Key Course Objectives
Develop skills of drivers which will improve their driving ability, with special focus on collision avoidance strategies. Skills are taught through a series of driving exercises, supplemented by theoretical classroom sessions and include:
- Defensive driving techniques
- Steering,speed & vision control
- Proper hand placement and seating
- Anticipate and recognize hazards on the road – react in manner that will mitigate the effects of such a hazard
- Handling hazardous conditions, including assessing surfaces and terrain, detecting hazards, skid prevention, importance of tyres and pressures
- Decision making as a component of driving - take the right action to prevent an accident
- Maintain control of the vehicle in potential loss of control situations
- Dealing with distractions & making quick decisions
- Collision Avoidance Training - “Identify, Predict, Decide and Execute” (IPDE) System
- Emergency braking (including ABS)
- Wet surface training done at 60km/h and beyond
- Emergency lane change
CourseOutline
- MODULE 1– Theory and audiovisual presentation to highlight main causes of collisions
- MODULE 2– Practical Vehicle Training
–Individual 1-on-1 instruction
–Practical scenario avoidance session in a safe and controlled environment
–NOTE: Every participant undergoes this individual instruction on the road in his own road-worthy vehicle
The Advance Driving Certificate of Competence is issuedto all candidates who pass the final evaluation (valid for 12 months)

Training Rates are calculated according to the NLA Training Rate Schedule 2012*
NLA Members: N$ 915 + VAT pp
Non-NLA Members: N$ 1,099 + VAT pp
Course Special: N$ 860 + VAT pp
Note: Course fee includes course hand-outs, certificate, coffee / tea breaks & snacks.

Training Agreement
We (the client) herewith register (number in words) participants at a rate (specify whether your company is a NLA member or Non-NLA member), according to the NLA Training Rate Schedule 2012, as provided. On receipt of a quotation, we will issue the NLA with an official Purchase Order for the said training course registered for. We commit to settling the invoice at least one day before training commences i.e. by Tuesday, March 27, 2012.
