The winner will receive a check from MSRT for $300.00 and a plaque.

This award shall be presented to the student enrolled in any JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program within the state of Mississippi who accrues the most points by participating in approved activities. The winner will be announced at the Awards Banquet/Luncheon at the MSRT annual conference. Official forms shall document points earned by each participant. These forms shall be printed and made available to all program directors by the MSRT president, along with the official rules for the annual awards. Additional forms may be requested from the MSRT executive secretary. All forms shall be completed and signed by the appropriate officials. In order for the student to be eligible for consideration, the completed forms must be submitted to the MSRT president POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 1 prior to the annual conference. The MSRT President, the Editor of The Beam, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors will tabulate points. Accrual of points will begin from Sept. 1 prior to the start of the annual conference to August 31 prior to the following conference. Points may NOT be carried over.

To be eligible, a student MUST meet the following criteria:

1.  Be a current student member of MSRT for the year participating and validated by the official membership card. If necessary, further validation may be obtained from the MSRT executive secretary.

2.  Be enrolled in a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program for the year participating and validated by the signature of the program director.

The signatures of the following officials are considered to be appropriate for point verification:

2.  The sponsor of a workshop or seminar attended by the student. A copy of the agenda must accompany the signature.

3.  The student liaison if an official student organization function.

4.  The Editor of The Beam for submitted articles for publication.

5.  The MSRT president for verifying papers submitted for competition at state conference.

In the event that no qualified official is present to validate points, a minimum of two (2) Radiologic Technologists who are current members of MSRT and are present may sign. The form must then be forwarded immediately after the event to the MSRT president accompanied by an explanation for acceptance. The MSRT president MUST validate the signatures and attendance.

**Program officials of the radiologic technology program attended by the student are ineligible to verify points for that student.**

Students shall be responsible for completing the forms, obtaining the appropriate signatures for verification, and submitting the forms to the MSRT president for tabulation. Students are advised to keep copies of all forms submitted.

A minimum of 800 points must be earned BEFORE a student is considered eligible for the award. If no student submits the minimum number of points, no award will be given for that year. In the event of a tie, two (2) awards shall be given. The winner(s) shall be announced at the Awards Banquet/Luncheon and shall NOT be made public prior to that time (except to ensure participation of the recipient if necessary).
