The Miracles of Jesus :Wedding Feast At Cana Story From The Rosary

1

“I’m going to a wedding,” said Jesus’ mum,

“Why don’t you join me, you’re looking quite glum.

We’ll have a dance and drink red wine,

We’ll enjoy ourselves, have a great old time.”

2

It’s being held tomorrow, in the local hotel,

We’ll get dressed up and look really swell,

They’re friends of the family – Bill and Jean

They’re very special, do you know what I mean.

3

The synagogue was packed, they sat in the sun,

The whole village was there, everyone had come.

They were joined together, for the rest of their life.

The rabbi announced, they were man and wife.

4

Your friends are here, go and reminisce,

Then you can give, the bride a kiss.

The wedding meal, looked really great,

He picked up his fork and gazed at his plate.

5

They ate and ate, till their bellies were round,

The dogs ate the chicken, dropped on the ground.

The best man stood up and toasted the groom,

He entertained everyone, there in the room.

6

The top of the wine jar, was really fiddly,

But it didn’t stop people, getting tidily.

The party went on, well after noon,

The special wine, would be coming soon.

7

The servants looked worried, what was wrong,

The singers continued, with the wedding song.

The father of the bride, had some terrible news.

I’m awully sorry, we’ve run out of booze.

8

This will bring disaster, on my family,

Tears in his eyes, he sat by a tree.

What can I do?The shame, the shame,

Our lives will never, be the same.

9

Mary turned to Jesus, do what you can,

I want you to help, this troubled man.

What can I do? Jesus said with a grin.

I’m here to help people, riddled with sin.

10

I’m your mother; you will do, just as I say,

No one will spoil, this man’s special day.

Jesus smiled at his mum and gave her a cuddle,

He got to his feet and avoided a puddle.

11

To the servant he said,“Bring me that jar,

The one in the corner, at the side of the bar.

At the edge of the well, I want five more.”

He pointed outside, and walked to the door.

12

Twenty litres they hold, when filled to the brim,

Our lady smiled – “You must listen to him.”

“Each one with water, you’ll fill to the top.

Please keep going, till I say stop.”

13

They did as asked, but thought it was dumb,

“I’m only doing it, because it’s your mum.”

He filled six jugs and pulled a face,

The whole idea was a waste of space..

14

Jesus grabbed a beaker and filled it up,

“To your master you give, this brimming cup.”

The master drank and shouted with joy,

“You’ve saved the wedding, you wonderful boy.”

15

“This is the best wine, Mary, I’ve ever had,

We owe it all, to Jesus your lad.”

They raised their glasses, to the bride and groom,

The sound of happiness, echoed through the room.

16

It was the first miracle, Jesus had done,

And all because, of Mary his wonderful mum.

So the message is simple, however old,

We should all do as we are told!
