SYMPOSIUM
The Symposium Bachelors of Engineering and Technology in Modern Industry, Science and Business will be held in Moscow on 17-18June 2004. It will take place in the Academy of Public Service under the guidance of the President of the Russian Federation.
The Symposium will debate national and foreign experience acquired in training bachelors of engineering and technology and their role in modern industry, business and research.

THEMES
1. National and international experience in training specialists in engineering and technology within the multilevel education system.
2. The role of bachelors in modern industry, science, and business.
3. The teaching content and technologies for training bachelors of engineering and technology.
4. Qualifications and problems of employmentof bachelors.
5. Requirements of industry, science, and business for bachelor degree programmes.
6. The Bologna process and Russian State Educational Standards of the third generation in engineering and technology.
7. Improving the bachelor degree programme list in engineering and technology.
8. International recognition of Russian degrees and credentials in engineering and technology.
9. Quality assurance in training bachelors in compliance with the requirements of modern production.
10. Interaction of universities and academic institutes, business and industrial enterprises.
CALL FOR PAPERSand paper layout
Authors are asked to send papers by e-mail, prepared in Microsoft Word (10 pt. Times New Roman; single line-to-line spacing). All pictures and schemes should be grouped.
The title of the report, first and last name of the author, and the e-mail address should be placed on the first page.
The first page should also have an abstract in English. The abstract should not be more than half of the page.
Publication of the full paper (up to 8-10 pages) in the Journal of Engineering Education is possible in accordance with the demands of the symposium.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGES OF THE SYMPOSIUM
Russian and English will be the official languages of Symposium.
DEADLINES
Authors should note the following deadlines:
Receipt of abstracts / 1 April 2004Receipt of papers / 1 May 2004
Notification of acceptance of abstracts / 1 June 2004
Registration of participants / 16 June 2004
Symposium opening / 17 June 2004, at 10 a.m.
PAYMENT INFORMATION
The participant fee including VAT is:
100 EUR till 1 May 2004 and
120 EUR after 1 May 2004
Payment for those who will not attend the Symposium is 50 EURO for one paper publication. Accommodation fees vary from 40-70 EURO per night depending on a kind of a hotel and paid by the participants.
Payment includes:
- publication of the symposium program and proceedings;
- receptions of the Organizing Committee;
- equipment and computer rental;
- information support and communication.
