New Midlands Chairman

We are delighted to introduce Elizabeth Flowith of Jon Flowith and Partners as our Chairman for 2013/14.

Elizabeth who has been a member of WiP for seven years, is a Chartered Surveyor at Jon Flowith & Partners a niche property consultancy with a wealth of experience in a number of specialist property sectors encompassing residential development land, leisure, hotels and institutional and listed buildings.

She said, “Women in Property is a networking and professional development organisation. We’ve just celebrated 25 years supporting women working in the property and construction disciplines. The Midlands branch will be holding a number of events throughout the year to bring together industry and academia professionals working in the property profession. This will include our annual dinner which was a huge success with members and non - members last year! Further details for this are due to be released soon.

Success for student Niahm!

Loughborough University student, Niahm Treacy is to represent the Midlands in our prestigious national property competition. Niamh who is studying Architectural Engineering & Design Management, competed against seven other students studying on built environment degree courses, to win the regional heat of the Association of Women in Property (WiP) National Student Awards.

She will now go through to the national final at Claridge’s in London, in September where she will compete against nine other young women from across the UK.

We would like congratulate Niahm on her success and wish her the best of luck for the final!

Day at the Races

On 13th March the Midlands and South West branches of Women in Property joined forces and attended Ladies Day at Cheltenham Festival. This exciting and glamorous day out was well attended and offered members and guests the opportunity to network with a variety of property contacts from both their own and outside their regions whilst enjoying an excellent lunch at Brasserie Blanc followed by a superb afternoon at Cheltenham Race Course. Despite the cold the WiP ladies looked fabulous and even though none of our guests won the official Cheltenham Ladies Day fashion award all attending had a great day out with much enthusiasm to return next year!

Black Country Launch

Women from across the Midlands came together on 5th June for the

inaugural Women in Property event held in the Black Country.

Hosted at the offices of George Green LLP in Wolverhampton, the event was open

to members and non-members of the Association, all of whom were invited to meet people in a variety of property based disciplines from across the region.

Chairman, Elizabeth Flowith, welcomed delegates and spoke about the benefits of WiP and its passion to help women working in the industry and students considering a career in property and construction.

We plan to hold a number of events in the Black Country, with future events to be confirmed soon.
