STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP2013-14

DEADLINES and INSTRUCTIONS

In order to be eligible for a PTSA scholarship, the student must be a PTSA member. The cost is $8.00 and the deadline for seniors to join PTSA, if not already a member, is October 15, 2013. Please return your membership form and dues to the counseling office. Make checks payable to Sunnyvale PTSA.

The deadline for Student Scholarship Applications is on or before April 15, 2014. Please return these to the counseling office.

Sunnyvale PTSA Scholarship Application Instructions:

  1. The application must be typed. You may use a typewriter; or you may fill in the form using Microsoft Word on the computer. This form can be downloaded from
  1. All questions must be answered. Do not attach resumes or any extra sheets with additional information to this scholarship application.
  1. Under No. 3, when listing such things as National Honor Society, list all years you have been a member. Consideration is given for each year of participation. The same applies for clubs, athletics, etc. Also include offices held.
  1. Do not include your name or the name of any family member in any of the questions. The only place your name should be is on the last sheet of this packet.
  1. The Raider Staff Second Mile Award Nomination Form is part of the application and will be considered incomplete without it.

Raider Staff Second Mile Award

As a senior, you have now had many people influence your SISD education. Please nominate any SISD employee who you feel went “The Second Mile” for you in order to help you reach your goals. This might be a current teacher, an elementary or middle school teacher, administrator, secretary, counselor, custodian, etc. Any employee of SISD that you feel went over and beyond what was expected in order to help you succeed is a potential nominee. The person selected for this award will receive$350 for their department, be announced at the senior awards assembly, and have the honor of leading the senior processional at graduation.The 2013 recipient of this award was Cayle Beard. Since this award may only be given to a staff member one time in a five-year period, Coach Beard is not eligible at this time. An impartial panel will select the winner from the nominees.
