St. Bridget School HSA Meeting Minutes
December 1, 2015
The meeting was called to order at 7:00PM in the Library
In attendance: Mrs. Furlong, Mrs. Rowinski, Father Romans, Susan Jaramillo, Vivian Ciampi, Punita Ramchandani, Kim Weaver, Joanne Slot, Pat Stasiewski, Courtney Hansen, Krista Osturo, Sue Houle, Jenn Hackett, Lauren St. Onge, Annmarie Sullivan, Allison Polverari, Mairead Duffy, Marilu Rochefort, Shrulatha Balakrishna, Muvala Therthala

Principal’s Report: Mrs. Furlong
• Guest Appearances:
× Officer Lorin Weber visited grades 3-5 and middle school on Thursday, November 12th and addressed internet safety
× Joe Furey, Fox61 Meteorologist visited the school on Tuesday, November 24th and was really impressed by the questions and knowledge of the students
• Busy time of year during this holiday season; continuing with teacher’s observations this month
Pastor’s Report: Father Romans
• Outside classroom is near completion; will be utilized during warmer months
• Sound system has been installed in gymnasium
• Encourage school families to participate in parish activities (During Advent, Mass held on Tuesday at 6:00PM)
• St. Thomas Becket; continue to share office resources
Teacher’s Report: Mrs. Slot
• Grade 3 & 8 involved with prayer services
• Grade 3 participating with the Angels for the month of December
• Grade 5 completed their biography bottles; currently being displayed in lobby
• Grade 4; Mrs Duncan looking for ideas pertaining to a service project
• Grade 2 & PreK3 created an Advent wreath and wrote prayers
• Grade 2 & 7 participated together on Turkey Feathers project
Treasurer’s Report: Punita Ramchandani
• Report out on October activity
× O/S balance regarding Assessment is being addressed
× Provided update on the Golf Tournament, Auction, Entertainment Card, Halloween Party, Lyman Orchard Pie/Cookie Fundraiser
Fundraising and Social Events:
Educational Program/Brainstorming Session: Vivian Ciampi
• Hosted two (2) parent meetings - good turnout and lots of good ideas
• Gathered ideas pertaining to supplemental and enrichment educational programs
• Next steps: Share ideas with the teacher/faculty staff
Santa Shop: Vivian Ciampi
• Will be held Thursday and Friday (December 3rd and 4th)
• Volunteers needed (sign up via Sign Up Genius link)
Christmas Party: Teresa Wable
• Event Date: December 11th 5:00-9:00PM, RSVP date December 6th
• Horse Drawn Carriage Rides available for $50.00 per ride (2-3 families can go on one ride)
• Professional Photographer will take pictures
Auction: Courtney Hansen and Krista Osturo
• Working on Christmas Ornaments with Great Gatsby theme; Looking for chairperson
• Ads/Sponsorship: Looking to increase sales for Ads/Sponsorship for Auction
× Forms located on school website/Great Gatsby portal
× Earn a free dress down day for your children by getting two (2) sponsorships or three (3) ads
• Heather LaFrance working on specialty items with classrooms
• Teresa Wable: Facebook page
• Lauren St. Onge: e-mailing various businesses for donations
Entertainment Book Sale: Vivian Ciampi
• APP now available
• Need to sell more Entertainment apps, welcome marketing ideas
• Going to sell at masses this weekend and bulletin stuffers in both parishes. Flier went home to parents and sales are starting to come in. Pays for itself easily. 50% profit share to school and opportunity for assessment payoff.
Family Eat Out Night: Vivian Ciampi
• Location and Date of event will take place in January (more information to follow)
Suggestion Box:
• Sign up the school to your Stop & Shop, Shop Rite, Price Chopper, Target cards
• Update the parent directory and distribute
• Participate in collection for St. Peter & Paul School to support the school (contact office staff)
• Put entertainment app info on facebook page
