ANNOUNCEMENTS – November 6, 2016

The Learning Circle is beginning an exciting new series based on the book Finding God’s Path Through Your Trials: His Help for Every Difficulty You Face by author Elizabeth George. She is a best-selling mystery author but also a woman of faith. Her writing is clear, easy to understand and well-organized. Learning from the book will be supplemented by videos of the dynamic African American preacher John Jenkins Sr.

Sessions are warm and supportive, lasting about 1.5 hours. Course material will be supplied at no cost. Scheduled Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 pm, a parallel evening session will be held if there is sufficient interest. Please contact Dorothy Briggs or Reverend Neill for further information.

1st for 1stThank you for yourdonations of food, rain ponchos etc. for First United’s mission work on the DTES. As winter weather sets in, a $5 coffee card for a 24-hour restaurant gives a homeless person the oppor-tunity to spend a few dry hours in a warm space on a cold, wet, dreary night when all the shelters are full. Please leave your coffee cards in the offering plate so that your kind generosity will allow someone the gift of a few hours of warmth.
