If you are interested in new, beautiful species of trees or shrubs, interesting flower arrangements, original decorative elements, potted and bedding plants, grass or vegetable seeds, a visit to the GARDENIA International Garden and Landscape Architecture Fair will be a real pleasure.

Wide range of horticultural products

The 11th edition of the GARDENIA Fair, which will take place on March 2-4, 2017, in Poznań, is an excellent opportunity to purchase new tools, gardening equipment, accessories for irrigation and elements of small garden architecture. The Fair is open to fans of greenery, anyone yearning for spring and seek inspiration to arrange their garden or balcony space. The MTP fairgrounds will be vibrant with inspirations, unique solutions and innovative ideas in all horticultural categories. GARDENIA is also an opportunity to have a look at the latest horticultural trends and technological innovations.

Garden is a place to relax

In spring and summer, garden becomes a place of rest. A place to relax after a hard day, a place of fun for children, and, above all, an area where you can develop your passions. The green space comes to life, becoming beautiful, colourful and fascinating. But before the spring finally arrives to the green area, you have to engage in a number of responsibilities. The lovers of greenery have to, e.g. regenerate the lawn after winter, plant flowers, trim trees or organize gardening tools.

600 exhibitors, 300 innovations, 29 Gold Medals

The GARDENIA Fair is primarily an exceptionally extensive exhibition. From year to year, the number of exhibitors competing in unusual arrangements on their stands is growing. Seedlings, flowers, bulbs, as well as innovative gardening equipment, which will appear on store shelves in the 2017 season, will be presented during the GARDENIA Fair. For the three days, Poznań will become a true horticultural paradise. The products and services will be presented by over 600 exhibitors from Poland and Europe, and in addition to 300 new products, they show well-known and already proven bestsellers. Special attention should also be paid by the visitors to 29 products awarded the MTP Gold Medal.

Maja Popielarska, Marek Jezierski ad live workshops

Inspirations and ideas for effective arrangement of green areas will be cherished by workshops, demonstrations and seminars conducted by prominent specialists. The Fair guests will also include experts well-known in the country, who host TV programmes on gardening, such as Maja Popielarska. Marek Jezierski, the co-author of the "Rok w ogrodzie" TVP1 programme, will share his 20 years of gardening experience. For the fifth time already, the journalist will conduct a live workshop entitled "Dream Garden Created with Passion." The event that has become a fixed item in the GARDENIA calendar is organized by the Bayer, Compo, Fiskars, Marolex and Vilmorin Garden companies. This year, the fans of green areas will have an opportunity to talk about everything that is associated with gardens. Persons hungry for information on new trends will also be satisfied. The meeting with Marek Jezierski means not just theory, but practice. It is also a chance to win prizes in numerous competitions. The workshop will be held on March 3 and 4.

Mowing robots zone, or garden revolutions

It is worth combining visiting large exposition located in five exhibition halls and participation in many interesting events. For those who painstakingly take care of their lawns, the mowing robots zone is highly recommended, where they will have an opportunity to have a closer look at innovative models and compare them in terms of their functionality. Persons interested in new technologies in horticulture which facilitate mowing and cultivation of plants should take part in the meeting hosted by Maciej Konieczny, Commercial Director of the Husqvarna Division at Husqvarna PolandSp. z o.o. The topic of the event will be "Advanced Technological Solutions and Applications in Gardening Machines."

Create your garden design

GARDENIA is a unique opportunity to create one's own garden. You will succeed in it with the help of the staff representatives of the Architecture Department of the University of Life Sciences in Poznań. The meeting with experts will be held on Saturday, March 4, and it will allow you to arrange your backyard area on your own. The students of landscape architecture will talk about the latest trends and advise on how to choose and where to locate plants. Children are also invited to participate in the "Design Emergency Service." One of the attractions, with the motto "Become a Little Designer," will be prepared especially for them.

The workshops on professional design will be an inspiration for people who intend to create their first gardens. At the invitation of the DESIGN EXPRESS POLAND Sp. z o.o. company, it will be conducted by a landscape architect, Eng. Agnieszka Dębicka, MSc. The participation in the event is free of charge upon prior registration on the organizer's website. The meeting will be held on March 3 and 4.

The most important garden activities include plant protection and their fertilization. If the lovers of greenery want their plants to grow well, they should remember about proper fertilizer that will stimulate the plants' growth. Due to the number of products available in the market, everyone has to find the answer the question which one to choose. Wiktor Kacmajor, CEO of Tamark S.A., will help you do that by giving a lecture on "How to Protect and Fertilize Garden Plants Effectively Without Doing Harm to the Environment?" During the meeting, among other things, the topics of garden sustainable development will be discussed. The speaker will also answer the question of whether it is possible to take care of a garden without the use of chemicals.

The topic of garden aesthetics will be discussed byDiana Szczęsna, MSc, a botanist at the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the University of Wrocław and an expert in the field of ornamental plants cultivation, who, at the invitation of the "Mam ogród" magazine will also tell the participants about the meaning of colours in green areas and their impact on the harmony of garden arrangements.

During the GARDENIA Fair, it will be also possible to purchase plants and tools. The enthusiasts of pot and bedding flowers, the owners of fruit trees and decorative shrubs are invited to participate in the Garden Sale.

Gardens built in front of the visitors

Many emotions will be inspired by the demonstration gardens designed live as part of the "Inspiring Arrangements" competition. The theme of this year's edition of the event is a book that is inherently associated with gardens. The event is organized by the Polish Association of Garden Creators. As in the previous years, the competition will carried out under the media patronage of the "Maja w ogrodzie" TV programme. The construction of the arrangement will be done on the first day of the Fair for all visitors to see. The winners will be selected by voting. The contest participants will receive a set of mandatory materials to be used in the design
and construction of the arrangement (surface, plants, architectural detail), and the method of their use and the selection of other elements depends on their ingenuity and vision.
