Background and Information:

This scholarship was created by the Thunderbirds Community Sports Foundation to allow students an opportunity to pursue sports related fields of study in college or university.

The scholarship will be awarded to a student entering into a sports related field of study. For example: Athletic training, Physical therapy, Sports Management, Sports Marketing or Parks and Recreation Administration programs. Physical Education teachers or Exercise Science majors are also eligible. The Scholarship is for $1,500.00 and can be applied to either a 2 or 4-year program(applicants may use the scholarship at any accredited University, Community College, Vocational or Technical School).

Criteria and Instructions:

Graduating seniors and students who are already enrolled in a post-secondary institution may apply. Students who have previously been awarded this scholarship may re-apply. Students who graduated high school in the South Puget Sound region will be given priority.

The following four items must be included with any application:

1. Copy of Transcript

2. Two letters of recommendation

3. A 500 word essay explaining why you are interested in your chosen field

4. Completed and Signed Application
