/ THE KELLIE VAN MEURS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN CREATIVE WRITING
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. GENERAL
1. Closing date for applications is 5:00pm, Friday 7 October 2016. Late applications will not be accepted.
2. To be eligible for the Kellie van Meurs Memorial Scholarship in Creative Writing applicants must meet the following criteria:
Student Profile
The scholarship is open to individuals who are pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Creative and Professional Writing) or an equivalent degree (such as the Bachelor of Creative Industries - Creative Writing), or a double degree in Creative Writing, and are planning to undertake their third-year of study at QUT / Academic Profile
You must be one of:
· KK33,KK34,IX34,IX35,IX56,IX6,IX73,IX83,IX85
· Maintain a minimum academic standard / Citizenship Profile
You must also be one of:
· an Australian or New Zealand citizen
· a permanent resident
· the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa
· an international student who has completed high school in Australia.
3. Applicants must complete and submit an application form and include a personal statement concerning their commitment to the endeavour of Creative Writing and a brief outline of their financial need.

B. ENROLMENT
5. Recipient must be enrolled full time at the time of application and maintain a full time enrolment to receive scholarship payment.
C. RECIPIENT PERFORMANCE OBLIGATIONS
6. All Kellie van Meurs Memorial Scholarship recipients must enrol in his or her third year of the Creative Writing programme and maintain a sufficient academic standard to complete the year. Failure to maintain this condition may result in the scholarship being terminated.
7. At the conclusion of the year of receiving the Kellie van Meurs Memorial Scholarship, the recipient must provide an overview of the benefit and outcomes provided by receipt of the scholarship. This should be sent to .
D. SCHOLARSHIP VALUE AND DISBURSEMENT
8. The scholarship value is $3,500 and will be paid in one cash instalment to the nominated account of the recipient’s choice. This will be paid after the March HECS census date.
9. While every care is taken to ensure direct payments of scholarship funds are correct, scholarships recipients are required to monitor payments and notify QUT if any over or under payments occur. If under payments occur, the balance will be paid to the student immediately. If over payments occur the scholarship recipient is required to advise QUT immediately and repay the overpaid amount.
E. GRIEVANCES
10. Any grievances arising from the administration of this scholarship is governed by E/9.2 Grievance resolution procedures for student related grievances found in QUT’s Manual of Policy and Procedures - http://www.mopp.qut.edu.au/E/E_09_02.jsp
11. All scholarship delivery is governed by the QUT Manual of Policy and Procedures, Chapter E - 11 Prizes, Awards and Scholarships
F. CONCURRENCY
12. For all intents and purposes the Kellie van Meurs Memorial Scholarship in Creative Writing is classed as an equity scholarship.
13. The Kellie van Meurs Memorial Scholarship in Creative Writing is bound by the Scholarship Concurrency Policy. The QUT Scholarships Concurrency Policy determines whether certain scholarship combinations can be held by a student concurrently. Refer to the concurrency table provided below.
To determine if a combination of scholarships can be held concurrently be a student, determine scholarship type A on the Y axis and Scholarship Type B on the X axis and slide down and across simultaneously until you reach the concurrency decision for that scholarship combination.
