Sat., Feb. 4 - Laurel Valley Excursion. 10AM-Noon.Meet at the kiosk located on Deerfield Road in Noyac across from Deerwood Path (North Side Hills). Moderately-paced 3 mile hike through wooded knolls and laurel-filled ravines. Hilly terrain. Leader: Doreen Johnston, 516-994-5947.

Sun., Feb. 5 - Barcelona Neck Excursion. 10AM-Noon. Meet at Sag Harbor Golf Club parking lot on Barcelona Neck Road off of Route 114, Sag Harbor. Moderately brisk 5.5 mile hike with views of Sag Harbor Bay, Northwest Creek and Harbor, Cedar Point Park, and Mashomack Preserve. Leader: Chip Dineen, 646-221-8225.

Two Event Saturday

Sat., Feb, 11 -Paumanok Path and Beyond. 1PM-3PM. Meet at the juncture of Stony Hill and Brick Kiln roads for a 4.5 mile loop through Sag Harbor's deep woods. The hike includes untouched stands of beech and oak, 18th Century cart roads, the ocean overlook on Whiskey Hill and dark trails through laurel thickets. Leader: Mark Potter, 631-725-0450.

Sat. Feb. 11 - Narrow Lane Cleanup. 8AM-9AM. Help STPS clean up litter from our adopted road. Meet on Narrow Lane, and east corner of Norris Lane. Bring gloves. Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Sun., Feb. 12 - Grassland to Grassland Traverse. 9AM-10:30AM. Meet at the South Fork Natural History Society (SoFo) Museum parking lot, 377 Bridgehampton Turnpike 200 yards north of the RR tracks. Join Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt on a moderately-paced 2 mile hike from Vineyard Field to the grasslands of Poxabogue County Park. Leader: Dai Dayton, 631-745-0689.

Sat., Feb. 18 – Tree ID Trail in the Long Pond Greenbelt. 10AM-Noon. Meet at the Long Pond Greenbelt Nature Center, 1061 Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor Turnpike. Learn about our native trees and shrubs on thismoderately-paced 3.5 mile hike through oak/hickory forest with views of Crooked Pond.Leader: Jean Dodds, 631-599-2391.

Sun., Feb. 19 - Elliston Park. 10AM-11:30AM. Meet at Park on Millstone Brook Road, Southampton. Moderately-paced 3 mile hike with views of Big Fresh Pond and Wolf Swamp.Leader: Howard Reisman, 631-283-5376.

Sat., Feb. 25 - Red Creek Park Excursion. 10AM-Noon.Meet at the parking lot on Old Riverhead Road, Hampton Bays. Moderately brisk hike with views of Penny Pond. Leader: Jim Crawford, 631-481-6228.

Sun. Feb. 26 -Sears Bellows County Park. 10AM-Noon.Meet at the parking area on Bellows Pond Road in Hampton Bays. Moderately-paced 4 mile hike through the amazing Long Island Pine Barrens with pond views.
