DECATUR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

June 15, 2009

The Decatur County Commissioners opened their June 15th, 2009 meeting with the following present: Jerome Buening, President, John Richards, Rick Nobbe and Bridgett Weber – Auditor

The June 1st 2009 meeting minutes were approved as read.

Mark Mohr – Highway Superintendent provided a report on Bridge 19 and Bridge 30. Mr. Richards moved to sign the utility coordination certificate for 1100S in Decatur County to 200W in Jennings County, Mr. Nobbe seconded and Mr. Buening concurred. United Fund provided additional monies to the Highway Department for relief during the flooding last year. Mr. Mohr also reported that he is working on budgeting for the highway budget for the remainder of this year and next year and discussing possibilities with the State Board of Accounts. Mr. Mohr discussed the driveway permits that were issued for the truck stop on 421 North at St Paul. Mr. Mohr is working with truck stop and INDOT to work out any driveway issues INDOT may have. Mr. Mohr discussed the roofing project at the highway garage. Currently an 80 foot tower is located on the top of the building and is not needed. Mr. Buening would like to see it come down and put a new antenna on the side of the building instead of on the roof. Commissioners agreed to the expenses to remove the tower and new antenna.

Payroll Claims and Accounts payable claims were approved.

Carol Davis - Aging and Community Services provided information of the agency and the 3 programs that the county’s contribution supports. The agency is requesting $12,073.00 from Decatur County again for 2010.

Bryan Robbins requested use of facilities for the lawn on August 1st for Paint Out provided information about the Courthouse marker.

Lester Moody is offering home based computer repair service and would like to provide service to the county offices. Commissioners recommended discussing his services with the IT Committee.

Mike Cunnington is requesting the use of the Courthouse grounds for a Rally for Christ on July 5th. Commissioners approve the request provided that a certificate of insurance is submitted to the Commissioners prior to the event.

With nothing else to come before the Commissioners Mr. Richards moved to recess, Mr. Nobbe seconded and Mr. Buening concurred.
