Vicenza’s international gold and jewellery show returns September 3-7, 2016, and this time with a brand new area dedicated to watches

VICENZA, 3-7 SEPTEMBER 2016 – The countdown has begun to VICENZAORO September, the international gold and jewellery show organised by Fiera di Vicenza, which will take place this year in the city of Vicenza, September 3-7.

The event, which is a business andcultural hub of excellence for the entire international jewellery supply, is organised at astrategic point of the year, whensales in the trade at their peak, because of the pending end-of-the-year holiday period. Confirmed as one of the world’s leading gold and jewellery shows, VICENZAORO September is also renowned in the industry for providing an observatory to very latest trends and a preview of what is coming in the future.

The central theme of the show this will be “The Golden Touch.”Involving the many voices of the jewellery industry, it will cover six sub-themes: product excellence, both national and international products (The Touch of Well Done); Corporate Social Responsibility (The Human Touch); distribution (Get in Touch); new trends in the industry and the marketplace (The New Touch); international aspects (The Global Touch); communication (The Touch of Words); as well as cultural elements associatedwith the world of jewellery.

With 1,300 brands from 30 different countries, including all of Italy’s gold districts, VICENZAORO September is confirmed as a key global and national networking rendezvous, eagerly awaited by all stakeholders in the industry who are intent on viewing new products from the gold and jewellery industry, as well receiving previews of market trends.

VICENZAORO September will once again be offering a packed calendar of initiatives, seminars and events.

Friday, September 2, will see the inauguration of the exhibition, “Il Gioiello e ilViaggio,” organised by Fiera di Vicenza and curated and by Alba Cappellieri, Professor of Jewellery Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy’s leading jewellery expert. This temporary exhibition, featuring jewellery created by designers under the age of 30, will be located in the Jewellery Museum in Vicenza’s Basilica Palladiana. All items are dedicated to an interpretation of travel, understood as inspiration – symbolic or real – as well as narrative metaphor that may refer to an interior journey, to geography or event to a production process.

The designers presenting their works in the “IlGioiello e ilViaggio”exhibition are all finalists in the Next Jeneration Jewellery Talent Contest 2016 (NJJTC)competition, organised by Fiera di Vicenza together with the School of Design of the Polytechnic University of Milan. Each entrant comes from one of the most prestigious international jewellery design schools including EcoleBoulle in Paris; Design Hochschule Pforzheim in Germany;Technology University Eindhoven in Holland;FIT in New York;Loughborough University in England; the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan;Shenkar College Tel Aviv; Hong Kong Design Centre;HES-SO Geneva;Florida International University and the Polytechnic University of Milan. The prototypes on display were created by jewellery companies associated with the Women Jewellery Association Italy, indicating the significant synergies that exist between the creativity of young talent and the manufacturing world.

OnSaturday, September 5, TRENDVISION Jewellery+Forecasting, Fiera di Vicenza’s independent think tank, will introduceTRENDBOOK 2018+. Now in its15th edition, the reference guide for the jewellery and international contemporary luxury forecasts and analysesthe Mega Trends and style directions that will be influencing product development and consumer choices,18 months ahead of the market. It is a key informational tool for companies seeking to ensuretheir competitiveness in a global market where excellence, innovation and creativity are key factors of strategic development.

The official opening event of VICENZAORO September, which will take place in the evening of the first day of the show, will feature the awards ceremony for winners among the 25 finalists of the 2016 edition of the Next Jeneration Jewellery Talent Contest, for best interpretations of the theme “Gioiello e ilViaggio - Jewellery and Travel.”

Sunday 4 September there will be a conference entitled “Marketing to the Millennials: Meeting the expectations of the next great consumer generation,” organised by Fiera di Vicenza and the CIBJO, followed by the seminar “Trasparente come un diamante - fascino e business - “Clear as a diamond - charm and business”, organised by Federpreziosi in conjunction with the I.G.I. (Italian Gemological Institute), dedicated to ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, themes that are always central to the activities of Fiera di Vicenza.

The September edition of VICENZAORO will feature a new and exclusive section called NOW “Not Ordinary Watches. It will showcase a selection of innovative brand and designer watches made in Italy and Europe, from anindustry that, in terms of distribution and reference markets, is closely tied to the jewellery world.

The NOW Plaza, dedicated to watches, will be located in the ICON District,which is exclusive community for global brands in the jewellery industry. It is one of five districts in theVICENZAORO The Boutique ShowTM format (ICON, LOOK, CREATION, EXPRESSION, ESSENCE), whichtogetherprovide a comprehensive overview of production excellence in gold and international jewellery. It will be an inspirational area, grouping together the different stories of independent brands, and characterised by strong knowhow, design and research into innovation. The watch brands include AltanusGeneve, Brosway, Didofà, Gagà Milano, Ju’sto, Locman, Lucien Rochart, Paul Picot, Save My Day, Sordi Spa, Terra Cielo Mare andMontres Louis Erard.

Fiera di Vicenza has boosted its standing as one of the world’s major trade fair organizers for the gold and jewellery industry, with the success of the second VICENZAORO DUBAI (April 14-17, 2016) and its active presence at leading industry events in strategic markets. These include the JCK Show in Las Vegas (June 3-6, 2016), where its pavilion featured 120 Italian brands, and its participation at the India International Jewellery Show (August 4-8, 2016).
