Welcome to the month of April!
Our infant room is alive with action! We have our infants rolling and creeping

and our older babies pulling up to standing and walking. How exciting!

Activities we have planned for our younger babies…

Lots of tummy time---encouraging the babies to roll and sit unaided.

We will also encourage our infants to manipulate squeak toys and shake rattles and to engage

in mirror play. We also will encourage play with soft blocks and soft books to explore textures.

We will introduce the infants to puppet play and also ball and bubble activities.

Music & Language Activities—dancing to music while holding baby & reading one-on-one to baby.

Also Peek-A-Boo Fun!

Activities we have planned for our older babies…

We will encourage standing andcruising by having babies pull to standing on soft bolsters.

Also their favorite activity oftunnel play-crawling through the tunnel and rolling balls through it.

For Sensory Activity we will smell and touch spring flowers. We will haveour walkers,

use push toys and march to songs.

Welcome to April Everyone.

April showers bring May flowers. Spring is coming, finally! We are all more than ready!

In Language & Science we have already started discussing our growing flowers and plants. We

will be talking about how the rain and sun help make things grow. We will talk about rainbows

and will do many activities related to them. Using rainbow colored crayons we are making

umbrellas to display in our room.

Using our Fine Motor Skills we are creating a colorful spring shape wreath using

colorful paper of different sizes and shapes.

Some of the books we are reading this month include “The Golden Egg Book”,

“What Makes a Rainbow”,and“Our Garden” book.

Our Younger Toddlers (ages 13-16 months) are using push and pull toys to practice

using both large and fine motor skills while getting plenty of exercise.

In Dramatic Play our Older Toddlers (ages 17 months & up) are using hula hoops to go around,

under, and through. We are pretending the hula hoops are puddles and will use bean bags

to toss into them and also to practice jumping into them. We are spending a lot of time

outdoors in our play yard having fun running, jumping, climbing and just being kids enjoying

the great outdoors!
