ANB – India has successfully organized 10 Refresher Courses during the year for the award of various International Welding diplomas starting from IWE to IWP.
A heartening feature was that a single company came forward to certify 9 of its engineers as either IWE / IWT. The company was PSL, Pipe Manufacturing Division at Varsana. The result of this was that this Refresher Course was held in house at the site of PSL, Varsana from 21st - 25th October 2008. There were IWE – 2 and IWT – 7. There were also 4 other candidates who attended the course as student candidates.
Apart from the above, 2 other courses were also organized at Kolkata and Vizag respectively in February and March 2008. There were a total of 16 candidates in these two courses.
As a result of all these courses, ANB – India has awarded a total of IWE – 83, IWT – 30, IWS – 15 and IWP – 6 till this year end. This amounts to a total of 134 diplomas awarded till date. Apart from this another 8 diplomas have been kept in abeyance due to either technical or financial reasons.
