Plymouth 10k 6th November 2011
The inaugural running of this race proved to be popular with Harriers. The new city centre course proved to be fast, with several seasons bests. There were several outstanding performances. NeilHolmes took a whole second off Alan Ryder’s V45 record which had stood for just over a month. Steve Watson took 36 seconds from Ken Summers’ V60 record set earlier in the year at Exeter and also won the V60 race category. EmmaLake took the honours in the F35 category in another swift time. Huw Jones had a tremendous run in 39 minutes flat. Good to see Steve O’Carroll racing again

Westward League 2nd Race, Newquay 6th November 2011
On the same day as the Plymouth 10k a contingent of EVH’ers made the trip down to Cornwall for the second Westward League race of the season. A new race venue in Newquay provided a good course for the field to get stuck into. Good to see some of the younger Harriers racing over the country. Highest placings of the day were Luke Honey in the U17M (4th) and Travis Bramley who was 5th in the U13M.

DROGO 10, Castle Drogo, 20th November
On the same day as the Cornish Marathon eight club representatives travelled to the picturesques setting of the National Trust property at Castle Drogo. The very challenging course, including the infamous climb for the last mile back up to the Castle, provided a very stern test.
