Project Design Task

With the rapid development of China's industrialized processes, in recent years the air pollution caused by a large range of haze has plagued many areas of our country and seriously affected the quality of life of the people. Waste gas source containing sulfur or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is an important factor leading to haze problems. At present, China's governance of waste gases containing sulfur or volatile organic compoundscannot yet meet the requirement of creating a high-quality clean environment. Environmental protection management and treatment technology need to further be strengthened and improved. Comprehensivelyemploying advanced engineering technologies to develop a much moreeffective and economical environmental process for creating a better home for Chinese people, it is a duty-bound era task for the chemical technological personals.

一、Design Topic

Design a deep desulfurization process of sulfur-containing industrial waste gases

Or Design a catalytic oxidation process for industrial waste gases of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

二、The project design basic data or information

1、Sulfur-containing industrial waste gas orvolatile organic compounds (VOCs) waste gases from different industrial sources.

The source, scale size and compositions characteristics of sulfur-containing industrial waste gases or volatile organic compounds (VOCs) waste gases are determined by the team based on the analysis of social survey results.

2、Environmental governance and treatment Objectives

The environmental emissions indices of deep desulfurization and VOCs removal are determined by national and industrial emission regulations and social development goals.

3、Resource product utilization

Resource utilization of selected product categories and specifications by the team is determined based on your own market survey results

4、Safety requirements

In theprocess design of the project, "safety first" principal is strictly implemented based on the nature of unit and process safety byusing new safety technologies and safety design methods if possible.

1)Comparison and Selection of Process schemes

2)Using Safety production measures

3)Application of advanced unit process technologies

4)Process Simulation using Aspen Plus Software Package.

5)Draw Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)

6)Preparedocuments of mass and energy balances for the process and unit operations

3、Submissions should be submitted to the material

1)Document of project feasibility report need greater than 50 pages

2)Draw Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) using AutoCAD software.

Note:All documents must be finished in English.
