debut a series of original paintings and limited edition prints that celebrate the role of women as inspirations for life and living.

These two wonderful artists delight in working together. “She’s my inspiration!” said Christensen. “Her unstoppable enthusiasm and spontaneous approach to her art inspires me to experiment with my own style, media and interpretation. Painting together in my studio, we have developed a wonderful synergy, critiquing each other and encouraging each other to experiment with colors, surfaces and textures.”

Christensen’s works include limited edition fine art prints, porcelains, pearl bisque™, books and numerous gift items. Both artists celebrate the “feminine divine” with a broad range of limited edition and original art ranging from high fantasy to small romantic pre-Raphaelite portraits. Their images capture the souls of heroines, everyday women who have found strength and personal victory in their diverse experiences. These portraits carry a range of emotion reflective of the events that have shaped their character.

Opulent and colorful, fantastical and historical, Christensen Barney’s portraits of women are mixed with images of fruit, birds, flowers and chairs. “These images can have endless interpretations available to the viewer, but many of them have developed into symbols reflective of my life” said Christensen Barney. “The flowers and vines symbolize the unruly beauty I find in my role as a mother. Birds in nest, sitting quietly, communicate the contentment that I feel in my home. Fruit has many meanings. It can be a symbol of life cycles as it seeds, ripens, spoils and re-seeds. Fruit can represent the outcome.”

“This exciting collaboration of father and daughter has resulted in a passionate collection of limited edition and original art that invites us to celebrate the women we have known and their influence on our lives.” said Darren Peel, owner of Canyon Gallery. “Christensen is among those who see a world beyond realism, bringing us a whimsical approach to everyday life and situations. We’re extremely pleased to have this world-renowned artist joining us here at Canyon Gallery – his superstar personality and celebrity art status will be strong motivation for fans and newcomers to join us for what promises to be a great event.”

The art of James C. Christensen is published exclusively by The Greenwich Workshop, Inc. of Seymour, Connecticut, and is available only through authorized dealers. The Greenwich Workshop, Inc. is the leading publisher of limited edition fine art in North America. Along with fine art prints and books, Christensen also has an exclusive line of hand-painted porcelains and assorted gift items.
