“The game is scheduled, we have to play it, and we might as well work to win.”
The Marketing Committee via conference phone last week met to review sales and to determine steps to encourage all members, friends, family and co-workers to promote Simply Florida. To begin this is our current situation. We have made $43,789.64 on sales; we have $4,289.00 available to pay our next payment which is for $10,780.00. This means we are short by $6,500 for our next payment which is due by April 10th. Total books soldat $23.00 – 1,579 and at $25.00 – 328. At this time there has been little request for large numbers of books but the group felt there were too many discount levels. So, in order to clarify this and potentially bring in some quick sales, the group decided that a case would be $200.00 while faculty should contact Brenda Williams for final discountsfor retail outlets. There will be no other discounts for group sales. Chris has already put it up on the website at $200.00 per case.
Top Five ways to sell Simply Florida in April
- Develop a flyer to advertise Simply Florida for Administrative Support Day, April 25th.
- Contact your Convention and Visitors Bureau, a local gift shop, your hospital auxiliary and your Economic Development to see if they are interested in Simply Florida.
- Contact your local realtor association as they often provide house warming gifts to clients.
- Work with your Chamber of Commerce to see if they can fast fax out a flyer to their members.
- Work with your local Farm Bureau, Cattlewomen’s, Cattlemen’s or other agricultural group.
I know each of us is swamped, but it is the responsibility of all members to work on this project. If each of us sold only five books a month we would be able to make our payments without issue. Just FIVE BOOKS, who can’t do that? Some members have been doing it with ease others are not. In the next issue of Marketing Minutes we will be highlighting what members have done to get sales moving in their county.
The committee felt it was important to highlight the top ten saleswomen to date. A huge thank you to: Stephanie Toelle (201), Brenda Williams (177), Mary Beth Salisbury (148), Elaine Courtney (114), Duska Dorchel (124),Joan Elmore (98), Betsy Crisp (95), Danielle (formerly Gordon) Summers (65), Gayle Whitworth (55), Monica Dawkins (54). Chris has asked that faculty include their enclosure slips so that she knows who to credit the sales to for her records.
Just a reminder: All funds should be sent to Chris Kilbride (MartinCounty) no less than weekly for both accounting purposes and to have a current inventory of the books. She has additional books to replenish your supply when you have sold all of your books from the first shipment. If you have ANY funds, mail them in TODAY to Chris.
