The Following Rules Apply to Singles Championships of the Club

Highmoor Open Singles Championships 2018

The following rules apply to Singles championships of the Club.

Matches must be played on the dates and at the time indicated at the column heading for the round in the published draw which will be put on the Notice Board within two weeks of the close date for entries.

NOTE – this year the arrangements for playing each round has changed and rather than players organising to play at a time and date of their own choosing the date of play (and as necessary time of play) will be fixed so effectively each round of matches will be played all together at the club at the same date/time.

Championship matches are to have priority of court use over any casual games being played at these times.

Open Men’s:

a) Up to and including quarter finals: Single set up to 8 games, with 12 point tie-breaker at 8 all.

b) Semi finals and grand finals: Best of three sets up to 6 games, with 12 point tie breaker at 6 all.

Open Ladies:

c) Up to and including quarter finals: Single set up to 6 games, with 12 point tie-breaker at 6 all.

d) Semi-finals and grand finals: Single set up to 8 games, with 12 point tie-breaker at 8 all.

Juniors Singles Championship is being organised separately by Damian Graf.

Balls shall be provided by the Club for grand final matches only. For other matches, players are to decide among themselves who will provide a pair of reasonably good balls.

If any match is unfinished when play has to cease due to bad weather or other valid reason, it shall be resumed if possible at the point where it was discontinued. If this is not possible within a week, the match may be declared to be won by the player leading at the time play ceased (unless that player is injured or cannot agree to complete the match without a good reason).

Tennis Victoria Rules and Regulations shall apply except where these Championship conditions specify otherwise.

Interested Players Should Record Their Names On the Entry List Posted On The Clubhouse Noticeboard. Entries Close On Sunday 6th May.

Any disputes are to be referred to the Senior Teams Officer. If necessary, a final decision will be made with another member of the Selection Committee. They may also add to or amend these conditions if the occasion arises.
