Currently reads: "Security settings (WEP/WPA) must match between Router and AP.

However, WPA does not function in bridge mode (see LAN757) and thus should not be claimed until the functionality is

This version will detect the wireless MINIPCI and show the UI correspondingly. So, this version can support wireless and wired only Router.

Notes:

  1. This release is for wired only router basically, it is based on 3.00.05, and the only change is the wired only support, this change should not affect existing functions with wireless router.
  2. If you are using 2M flash, please remember to upgrade to PMON 1.03.12 first.

Issue ID:LAN1100

Issue Summary:54g router: G-speed bandwith is no longer present on 3.00.01 release

Description:The throughput from a G client to a G router no longer functions at sustained G speeds (15-25 mb). Now the

highest possible throughput is 4-9mb. This was measured with Qcheck using a Belkin 54G Cardbus card. With FW

2.00.08 I was able to achieve Qcheck throughput of approximately 25Mbps. Without making any changes to the router

settings and only updating to FW 3.00.01, I was only able to achieve Qcheck throughput of approximately 8Mbps.

Issue ID:LAN1106

Issue Summary:54g router: DMZ does not hold settings when connection type is PPPoE

Description:D

MZ does not hold settings when connection type is PPPoE. A user can enter the IP address in the DMZ and check

"Enable", and the router appears to take the settings, but if the page is refreshed or a user goes to another page and

returns to the DMZ page the IP address is blank and DMZ is no longer enabled. DMZ holds settings correctly in

Dynamic and Static connection types, this failure is limited to PPPoE connection type.

08/29/2003 [ML] Same behavior noted in FW 3.00.01

Issue ID:LAN1092

Issue Summary:54g router: Programing a router running FW 3.00.01 for PPPoE using Easy Install v1.0.2.6, LAN DHCP stops functioni

Description:When programming a router running FW 3.00.01 for PPPoE using Easy Install v1.0.2.6, Easy Install will program the

settings and reboot the router, but then Easy Install will not be able to make a connection to the internet. Further

investigation reveals the LAN DHCP stops functioning. The router must be power cycled. After the router is power

cycled, the router works because the settings were successfully programmed into the router.

---- This issue should be fixed with 3.00.02 already.

Issue ID:LAN885

Issue Summary:54g router: Newer FW upgrades fail without a valid WAN connection

AP

Issue ID:LAN1087

Issue Summary:54g AP: G-speed bandwidth is no longer present after 3.00.00 release

Description:The throughput from a G client to a G AP no longer functions at sustained G speeds (15-20 mb). Now the highest

possible throughput is ruffly 4-8mb. This was measured with Chariot on using several different G-clients.

Issue ID:LAN1081

Issue Summary:54g AP: Firmware upgrade gives undefined error message

Description:When a user attempts to use the firmware upgrade to the 3.00.01 firmware, they will get a message saying the upgrade

did not complete correctly like this "Upgrade failure due to undefined error (-1). Please reboot and try again."

Issue ID:LAN816

Issue Summary:54g AP: Bridge Mode needs further setup description in interface

Description:B

ridge mode does not list the requirements in the web interface that:

1) Wireless channels must match between router and AP.

2) Security settings (WEP/WPA) must match between router and AP.

3) If MAC filtering enabled, user must be sure to allow router/AP to communicate with each other.

End users will not always have or read printed documentation on how to set up this feature. This information should be

listed on the Wireless Bridge page.

---Still need French and German translation),

Issue ID:LAN818

Issue Summary:54g AP: Help pages designed for Router, most info does not apply to AP

Description:T

he Help pages (main help page and "More Info" page) are designed for Router rather than AP. Most help is

router-specific and does not apply to the AP. AP-specific help pages should be implemented.

Not a Bug: LAN799, LAN814

3) Hardware related: LAN832, LAN942, LAN782

Issue ID:LAN797

Issue Summary:54g AP : AP will not establish a wireless bridge after settings are applied.

Description:T

he AP will not immediately establish a wireless connection with our 54g router once the settings are applied. The

connection seems to establish itself after the AP is disconnected then re-connected to the LAN side of the router.

BELKIN_PMON_1.03.12.bk -- New PMON for 2M flash. It is required for 2M flash, and it is optional for 4M flash.

Highlights:

  1. This release is based on BRCM KINGS release, it supports 2M and 4M flash automatically both for router and AP, and it will support c0 wireless chip.
  2. 2M flash, please use new PMON first(BELKIN_PMON_1.03.12.bk). This new PMON is required for 2M flash router or AP, and it is optional for 4M flash router or AP.
  3. These router and AP image should be compatible with 2M and 4M flash hardware. For 2M flash hardware, new PMON(1.03.12.bk) has to be used. For 4M flash hardware, you can either use 1.03.09.t2 or 1.03.12.bk, both should work.

This release fixes:

  1. Fixes with 2.00.08 should all be there.
  2. Bigpond heartbeat problem with 2.00.08 , this image includes the testing fixes which sent to Peter a couple days again, we did not know if the fixing working or not yet, but since this fixing does not hurt anything, so we include it here.

Known issues:

  1. we know pptp has problem in Holland, and our engineer is there to debug. Sounds like we already have the solution there. However, the pptp fixing with MxStream is not included with this release yet since we did not have the fixing checked in, and did not fully verified the fixing.

FAQ:

  1. How to upgrade this image to a 2M flash hardware?

Since we only have 2M flash AP sample right now, the following 2M flash samples will be shipped with new PMON(1.03.12.bk) and firmware(3.00.00), you won’t have problem later. However, if you have 2M sample, and would like to upgrade to 3.00.00 image, here is the steps:

  1. Upgrade the PMON to 1.03.12.bk through webpage
  2. Upgrade AP firmware(e.g. BELKIN_AP_USA_3.00.00) through the webpage.
  3. Upgrade the firmware you desired (even though you intend to use BELKIN_AP_USA_3.00.00, you still need to do this step in order to make the default variables correct.)
  4. Now, everything should be normal. Please be noticed, you cannot go back to “old” PMON code or firmware since it won’t work any more, and if you do that, it will be difficult to recover.
  1. How to upgrade this image to a 4M flash hardware?

Upgrading with 4M flash hardware (AP or Router), there is not difference from before. It is up to you if you want to use new PMON 1.03.12.bk. You can simply upgrade it though the webpage as you did before.
