2 Tim. 4:6-7 NLT 6) As for me, my life has already been poured out as an offering to God. The time of my death is near. 7) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.
The Race Within the Race
2 Cor. 3:18 MEV But we all, seeing the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.
Four Components Every Runner Progresses Through – The Pattern
1. Pace
2 Cor. 10:12-13a NLT 12) Oh, don’t worry; we wouldn’t dare say that we are as wonderful as these other men who tell you how important they are! But they are only comparing themselves with each other, using themselves as the standard of measurement. How ignorant! 13) We will not boast about things done outside our area of authority. We will boast only about what has happened within the boundaries of the work God has given us…
2. Pressure
James 1:12 ESV Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
3. Persistence
Proverbs 24:16 ESV For the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity.
Philippians 3:14 ESV I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
4. Progress
Gal. 6:9 NLT So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Who’s In?
