The ENERGY STAR Pledge is a fun, engaging way to challenge individuals to save energy at home. The pledge is part of a broader consumer engagement tool, My ENERGY STAR, which offers even more energy-saving actions for consumers to take. Together, both initiatives offer partners easy ways to leverage ENERGY STAR to benefit your outreach efforts.
Participation is easy. Simply visit www.energystar.gov/pledgedrivers and click the “MY ENERGY STAR PARTNER SIGN UP” button. Follow the short, three-step process to submit your organization’s information and set a goal. Shortly after submitting your registration, you will receive an email “Thank you for Joining the ENERGY STAR Change the World Campaign!” confirming your registration has been received by the ENERGY STAR Team. Once the team approves the registration, you will receive a second email “Welcome Pledge Driver! Save this E-mail!” providing access to ENERGY STAR materials, a unique linking URL, and a tracking page.
The linking URL connects to your organization’s customized pledge page. Drive traffic to this URL to make sure your community’s pledges count toward your organization’s goals. Please note – your linking URL will have a distinct id number at the end. Example, www.energystar.gov/campaign/takeThePledge?cpd_id=12345. Linking to the URL www.energystar.gov/campaign/takeThePledge will not accrue pledge data on your tracking page.
Partners can also promote the ENERGY STAR Pledge as either a unique URL like the pledge, or as an iFrame on their own web sites. If you are interested in promoting My ENERGY STAR to your audiences and/or have other questions about becoming a pledge driver, please contact the ENERGY STAR Team at and we will get you all sorted out. Whether you opt for the shorter pledge or the more comprehensive My ENERGY STAR initiative, each pledge driver gets their own tracking page that includes your pledge recruitment progress in terms of number of pledge actions taken, greenhouse gas emission reductions, dollar savings, energy savings, etc.
Promoting the ENERGY STAR Pledge
There are numerous ways you can join us in promoting the pledge to your audiences (consumers and/or employees) to help them save energy, including:

ENERGY STAR Paper Pledge
If you are hosting an event and don’t have access to the internet or a mobile device, ENERGY STAR offers a paper version of the pledge (see the ENERGY STAR Day toolkit). The paper pledge includes the same actions as the online pledge and requires a valid email. Please contact us at if you plan to use the paper pledge so we can assist in getting all your pledges counted for the ENERGY STAR Day pledge drive.
