Content of submissions

The Bulletin of the network "Mediterranean Waterbirds"publishes articles relating to monitoring and management of waterbirds and wetlands in the Mediterranean region (inventories, raw or synthesized data, technical / or methods employed and able to improve, successful conservation, etc.), but all relevant information relating to these areas may also be considered (research article, dissertation abstracts, Review papers, Relevant references, etc.).

Examples of accepted proposals

A ‘’Research article’’ may include the results of studies on a population or a community of waterbirds, one or more wetlands or any other topic relating thereto. A '’Long paper’' may also address methodologies / techniques (description, relevance, constraints ...).

A ''Note'', shorter than aresearch article, may be a review of winter counts or reproduction, observations of remarkable migration, original observation of rare / threatened species, a poorly known phenomenon in wetland type, ...

The ‘Research articles’' and the ''Notes’' 'must contain the following sections: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements and References.

A ''Dissertation Summary'' refers to a previously backed dissertation (which will be referred to by its full reference); it outlines the main findings of research related to themes in this newsletter, while avoiding copying the abstract developed in the original dissertation.

A ‘’Book/Article review’’ refers to a scientific publication or an unpublished report but wide dissemination. It briefly presents the main contributions of the analyzed document with a prospective evaluation comment, that respects the legal norms of scientific publishing. The synthesizeddocument, which must be already published, is referred to by its full reference.

A limited '’Relevant references’’is publishable if it is original or of great interest for the network or may concern the bulletin community.

Various '’Informations'’ (announcements, news) relating to significant events (conferences / workshops, meetings, events, exhibitions ...) will also be published if they concern the Mediterranean Waterbirds network.
