ENCOMPASS

The Daniel Braden Reconciliation Trust

Fundraiser

Job Description

ABOUT ENCOMPASS

Encompass works with young people across the world to confront issues of conflict, stereotype and identity within their communities. It exists to create social cohesion and cultural understanding across political, religious and socio-economic divides through residential, non-formal education reconciliation programmes.

Encompass is funded via a range of sources, but primarily from charitable trusts and foundations and from private donors. It currently receives no government money. A key aim over the next few years is to develop and augment these funding sources.

Although a global organisation, Encompass is run by a small team of 4 people in our London office. All our staff therefore have to be willing to share a range of tasks in order for the work to run smoothly and effectively.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THIS JOB

  • To lead the implementation of a three-year fundraising plan to achieve a diverse and sustainable income base for Encompass.
  • To maintain and develop existing sources of income.
  • To test and develop new sources of income.
  • To work closely with the Trustees, staff and volunteers to meet annual fundraising targets agreed each year.

The post-holder will be building on the fundraising work undertaken by the previous Fundraiser. Encompass has developed excellent relationships with a small number of trusts and foundations and must now look to expand the number and range of its funding sources.

The post-holder will represent Encompass to supporters, influential individuals, trustees and foundation officials.

The post-holder will be accountable to the Chief Executive.
