GENERAL RULES FOR ALL COMPETITIONS

PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS AS ALL POINTS WILL BE ADHERED TO

  1. Competitors must be fully paid up members of a club and hold a valid membership card. Members’ details must be held in the County Office before a member can compete in any competition. Competitors must be genuine members who regularly attend Club meetings and must not have simply paid subscription solely to enter a competition.
  1. Competitors must be of the correct age at the time of the County Competition. Seniors 26 or under, Intermediates 21 or under, Juniors 16 or under as at 1st September in the year of the County final.
  1. A member who is a paid up member of more than one club can represent only ONE CLUB in any YFC clubs year. A member who resigns from one club and joins another may compete for the club of which he/she is a member.
  1. Where there are Senior, Intermediate and Junior classes in the same kind of competition, any one member may compete only once and may not compete in more than one class.
  1. The time indicated is always the time at which the competition will start. All competitors are expected to report to the Stewards 15 minutes before this time. Members should read the Rules and be appropriately dressed, bringing with them any equipment required by the Rules and their membership card.
  1. Members who arrive late can compete only at the discretion of the Stewards and provided the competition is not delayed. Marks may be deducted if a competitor is late reporting.
  1. Competitors will be able to inspect the mark sheets at the end of each competition and, if possible the judges will explain the results and give constructive comments. Protests must be made to the Steward or Chief Steward before the results are announced.
  1. The closing date for entries is shown in the list of competitions and on the entry form. No late entries can be accepted without good cause and subject to Committee approval. If in doubt always send a provisional entry, if necessary phone or fax.
  1. A member may not compete in a competition if the ‘official’ entry form has not been received by the closing date.
  1. Clubs withdrawing their entries to competitions must give at least 24 hours notice or the last working day (Friday up to 12noon). Failure to comply will result in a fine of £50.00, which must be paid before the Club enters any further competitions.
  1. Substitutes are allowed for good reason and a substitute simply informs the competition Steward on arrival and shows their valid membership card. No other action is necessary.
  1. Unless otherwise stated, each Club may enter ONE MEMBER or in a team event ONE TEAM in a competition. Unless the rules indicate BOYS or GIRLS, all events are equally for both boys and girls.
  1. Composite teams, made up of members from a maximum of three Clubs within the County, can be entered in any competitions where the rules allow as determined by the County Activities Committee. Points will be awarded in the same ratio as the team make up.
  1. In sports and some events an entry fee may be required to cover costs. A book of entry forms for all competitors will be sent to each YFC Club Secretary and indicates the last day of entry. Once entered, the fee payable, even if the member or team fails to compete for any reason is to be paid by the club.
  1. Members take part at their own expense. In certain events, held outside the County, a contribution to expenses may be payable. Members must make certain about this in advance and should not rely on receiving financial assistance. If in doubt ask.
  1. The Committee reserves the right to vary the Rules, change dates of competitions, cancel or amalgamate classes, without notice.
  1. The decision of Judges and Stewards are binding on all competitions

THESE RULES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT THE COUNTY RALLY AGM.
