JOB TITLE–Prospect Researcher

FUNCTIONAL AREA/DEPARTMENT– Fundraising Team

LOCATION – Lincoln House Office: Kennington Business Park, 1-3 Brixton Rd, London

REPORTING TO – Fundraising Director

Term of Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term

  1. Purpose of the Role

The Fundraising Team is tasked with securing new funding partnerships and the stewardship of existing donors across a range of funding streams: Corporate/Commercial, Trusts and Foundations, Individuals, Cricketing Partners and Government to support the delivery of the Cricket Foundations Operations Programme and ensure the ongoing existence of the Cricket Foundation.

The role of the Prospect Researcheris to:

Develop prospect research supporting each of the key fundraising streams of the Cricket Foundation, corporate partnerships, high net worth individuals and trusts and foundations to maximise funding opportunities.

  1. Principal Responsibilities

The job holder will have the following specific responsibilities:

  • To research and develop a prospect list with the potential to support the Cricket Foundations activities.
  • Work with Fundraising Team colleagues on the development of prospect lists across corporate partners, high net worth individuals, trusts and foundations and statutory funders.
  • Produce a research template for each fundraising area.
  • Support with the research of new fundraising streams.
  • Ensure that all Data Protection and Institute of Fundraising requirements are fulfilled.
  • To ensure that the contact database is regularly updated.
  • To oversee the administration associated with the above as required.

Other:

  • Assist the Fundraising Director in any other fundraising duties as required.
  • Support the Fundraising Director in ensuring fundraising ‘risks’ are minimised.

The job holder has the responsibility for ensuring donor records are kept up to date both in terms of paper filing, electronic and the contact database.

  1. Key relationships

The job holder will liaise with:

  • Chief Executive and the Cricket Foundation senior management team
  • Fundraising Team consisting of a Fundraising Director, Corporate Fundraising Manager, Partnerships Manager and Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser
  • Operations, PR & Communications, Finance & Administration teams
  • Cricket Foundation Volunteers
  1. Skills, knowledge and personal competences

The job holder should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to research across a broad range of areas i.e. corporate, individuals, trusts and foundations and statutory funders
  • Excellent standard of IT skills, fully proficient in MS Office applications
  • Sound administrative/organisational skills
  • Experience of working in an organisation with a customer service culture
  • Able to work in a busy office environment and under pressure
  • Close attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work on own initiative-confident/self starter
  • An effective and enthusiastic team player
  • Must be able to work to deadlines
  • Sympathetic to the aims and objectives of the Cricket Foundation
  1. Experience and qualifications

Desirable:

  • At least two years fundraising or relevant research experience
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a similar sized organisation
  • Experience of CRM/Fundraising Databases
  • Good IT skills: knowledge and experience of using MS Office Word, Excel
  • Membership of the Institute of Fundraising
