  1. Design a piled foundation system to carry the multi- story building with the data given in the attached table(2). Consider the allowable pile load capacity (Qgall) and settlement of piles (Stotal). Assume tolerable settlement as 100 mm. The building plan area is 30m* 40m. The design will include:
  1. Choice of pile material (steel or concrete).
  2. Choice of pile cross-sectional dimension.
  3. Number of piles.
  4. Spacing of piles.
  5. Length of piles.
