PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:

From the President:

The New Year is upon us. Football is almost gone, spring training is just around the corner and the greens will be rolling smoothly before you know it.

Let me start this month’s newsletter by welcoming new member and welcoming back Roger Hildreth.

As you have noticed from e-mails and flyers, there are numerous ideas being implemented for the benefit of the members and prospection of new members. We need your help to make these ideas successful.

Committees: We are seeking new volunteers and the activities committee has developed subcommittees to better serve your needs. Please volunteer your input to these committees.

Member Referrals: All members can help by getting Steve the names of prospects for membership or those who may be interested in our Friday Fish Fry’s.

Business Listings: Members can now list their business on the Fox web site. You can pick up forms at the course or we can e-mail them to you by contacting me at . We encourage all members to support The Fox family members in their businesses endeavors.

Events: There will be a number of events to build interest in The Fox starting with open houses. Please attend these open houses to show prospects the fun and camaraderie of The Fox.

Advertising: We again have the Chamber of Commerce list for Green Bay, HOV and the Fox Cities. We will be using these lists to build our prospects and contact list. If you have any lists that we can add to this such as builder or business organizations, please forward them to The Fox.

Bar and Restaurant: We have already booked numerous Holiday parties for 2010 and early 2011. If you would like to have your Holiday party at The Fox, please contact me ASAP. There are also opportunities to book your reunions, birthday, anniversary, rehearsal and wedding parties at The Fox. Just e-mail with your request.

In July of this year, the State of Wisconsin will go non-smoking and at that time, go non-smoking at all times. Until that time, please remember there are many non-smokers, both members and guests at The Club. We ask that you be considerate to them. There will be cigarette receptacles outside the doors. Please use them and try to smoke outside if possible. There will be outside events before July and those events will be allowed to choose smoking or non-smoking. There will be postings in the schedule of the non-smoking events ahead of time. Please respect the wishes of these events that bring in revenue and prospects to The Club. Thank you for your help and understanding.

TREASURER’S REPORT

Treasurer’s Report

January 19, 2010

From: Rich Scott

The treasurer’s report is for the first two months of fiscal 2010 which are November and December of 2009. Because we don’t have a lot of activity in the first two months this report will be brief until we get to the end of February when we have better numbers for membership dues. Currently at this point in time, I usually concentrate on the costs we have incurred compared to last year to get a feel for where the club is currently operating compared to last year.

For the first two months of fiscal 2009 we are ahead of last year by about $20,000 net. The reason for this is we have about $13,000 in additional revenue over last year with the bulk coming from the bar and dining area. In addition, we have some savings in the course area as well over last year.

The bar area, with the Holiday parties, has put the club at a profit of $3,000 for the first two months versus last year we were breakeven. The dining area we reduce our loss from the prior year by $5,800. We had a loss in the dining area of $6,400 versus last year’s loss of $12,200. Currently, we did shut down the dining area other than parties or events, but will be starting up again as we bring back the activity in this area.

Course costs were down a little from the prior year for labor costs and we also bought fertilizer in November of 2008 at a higher cost than 2009 which accounts for the decrease in costs in the course area of $10,200.

The club house and pro shop area were basically identical to last year’s numbers as we gave gain about $600 over last year and this is as expect at this time of the year.

Prepaid dues as of the date of this report were about $124,000 versus $14,000 at this time last year. This is a direct reflection of the reduced amount in our line of credit from last year. Our line of credit is down about $247,000 over last year of which $110,000 is a direct result of the prepaid dues and another $40,000 in additional members notes over last year. So we have a positive change in the line of credit of $97,000 over last year.

Our current line of credit at December 31, 2009 was about $111,000. Our total liabilities are down over $141,000 over last year.

It is very important that members pay their dues on time as we move forward. With the dues we are receiving, it will help to get us to reduce our line of credit but also help us with reviewing the budget as we move forward and making necessary changes.
