The Club Matters.

It is an honour to be elected as your new Chairman andIcan’t thank Peter Chapman enoughfor his leadership and support over the last year.

I have learnt that a huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes that are not visible, and Peter has been a great mentor in leading me through this work -Thank you Peter!

I am pleased to say that further changes are in progress with Colin Thornton now elected as our new Vice Chairman, Peter Grange as our Company Secretary, and Gill Bevan as our Club Manager.

A newteam structure is now in place, which blends some new and existing positions. This will enable us to focus on the really important elements of the club, and provide an enhanced distribution of workload, so we are in good shape!

That’s enough of the work part of the job, and now to the more important matters, enjoying our cars. The sheer variety and number of events I see in our calendar to write about, leaves me overwhelmed with options. Planning is already underway for some events as far out as 2021.

Our “MOG Lite” event in the Cotswolds will shortly be upon us in June, thanks to a very able MOG team, with all of the arrangements now in place for the weekend with just a few minor items to lock down.

MOG 19 planning is also well underway and we will shortly be announcing the details of this not to miss event.

After our awards dinner at Malvern we launched our survey to better understand the wishes of the many, and I would encourage you to voice your opinion. The survey link is on the MSCC website and should have been sent to you via your Centre Secretary. We will publish more on this at a later date.

Motorsport is also firmly on the calendar, and earlier in the year I met with the leadership of the MG car club, to explore a possible joint meeting. I am pleased to announce with Peter Chapman’s help we have managed to engineer a joint weekend of racing on the 15th July including the Peter Memorial Race on the Sunday. One not to be missed!

We now have regular meetings with Steve Morris and the rest of the team at Morgan Motor Company, and we have already identified some very exciting future ventures that I know you will enjoy. Watch this space!

I do hope to see you at some of the events during the year so come and say hello

That’s all for now
