BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

July 11, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 9:30 am by President, Bruce Warner.

Board Members present: Bruce Warner, President; Tom Peterson, Vice-President, Alice Meyer, Secretary, Karl Kment, Member at large. John Pryor, Treasurer was absent.

Committee Chairs present: John Hartman, Gaylen Rettke, Pam Warner, Kathy Birch, Dave Shirley, Connie Costello, Randi Zlatkus, Newsletter Editor.

Guests: Zac Zlatkus, Shirley Rettke, John Meyer, Bert DeWitt

Minutes: (copy in file) A motion to approve the minutes of the board meeting of June 13, 2016 was made by Karl., seconded by Tom and motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: (copy in file) In Treasurer, John Pryor’s absence, Bruce reported the balance in Bank of Cascades checking account ending June 30, 2016 was $28,210.61, Bank of Cascades Money Market $72,581.49 and Washington Federal Money Market $28,210.68. Treasurer’s report was accepted as presented.

Committee Reports:

ARC: John H. noted Redmond Painting will stain both cabanas and the fence between the houses along west side of Cliffside Way sometime this month. Residents need to remove objects on or at the fence, including clipping plants against the fence.

Maintenance: Gaylen had no active business to report.

Landscape: Co-Chair, Dave said the 2nd application of fertilizer has been applied. There is some leftover for future applications. Roberto will be asked to clear weeds on canyon rim. The locust trees in the north cabana were discussed as to how to trim or remove them. Roberto will need to send his invoice directly to CMI for payment.

Special Events Connie reported there were 35 people at the 4th of July BBQ. The next activity will be a trip to the Putting Course at Eagle Crest on August 8 at 10:am. Bring your own putter. More information will be given closer to the date of event.

Finance & Insurance: Chair, Pam noted the crack sealing came in over budget. The Budget committee will look at any adjustments that need to be made to the 2016-17 budget and present the first draft to the Board at the August meeting with the final budget presented at the September meeting. Committees need to project their coming expenses for the next year. CMI will help with the reserve study. We need to get an idea of amount of funds that need to be accumulated for future repairs and replacement of common area items.

Old Business: None

New Business: The Pooles and the Johns who live near the North Cabana asked if we could make a different use of the North Cabana area. Dave Shirley will check with the city. The Cabana areas are designated open space by the city. Any changes to those areas must be approved by the City of Redmond.

Tom noted the updated roster is finished and in the hands of CMI. They are to provide copies for our residents.

Bert suggested Randi put a speed reminder in the newsletter. He also noted the placement of flags honoring the deceased from our neighborhood.

The next board meeting will be Monday, August 8 at 9:30 am in the St. Thomas Church school building.

A motion was made, seconded and approved to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 10:25 am.
