The Chair convened the call at 10:02 EDT

The telecon announcement included the following informational pointers:

IEEE Patent Policy

Patent FAQ

Affiliation FAQ

Anti-Trust FAQ

Ethics

The Chair inquired if everyone was familiar with the IEEE 802 IPR policy and if there were any potentially essential patents, patent applications, or claims about which the 802.11 WG Chair should be informed. No-one indicated unfamiliarity with the policy and no new patents or applications were identified.

The Chair reviewed the proposed Agenda:

Attendance

IPR and other relevant IEEE policies (see pointers above)

Agenda for this call

Agenda for calls through Waikoloa

Discussion of and presentations for comment resolutions for D1.05 based on 11-07/0023r40 or later versions if available

Adjourn

The Chair announced he had received Draft D1.06 which he will review today and send to Harry Worstell for upload.

The Chair also urged people to register for the Lihue, Kaua'i ad hoc. There has been a spike in demand since the San Franciscomeeting. The previous block of less expensive Mountain/Garden view rooms at the Hilton Kaua’i has been exhausted. At some point later today, more rooms in the next more expnsive category, Pool view, will be made available at $199/night.

There were no other suggestions for the Agenda and there were no presentations.

4. Agenda for calls through Waikoloa

Six calls are planned starting August 1 until September 5 (shouldn’t conflict with Labour Day).

All calls will be at 5PM Eastern Time.

There have typically been calls for General, MAC, Security and RFI

Many of the remaining unresolved comments are on MAC, particularly Power save, Synch and Path selection and their interaction.

August 29 and September 5 the chair will be in Japan but should be able to make the calls.

How much participation is expected in August given vacations?

It was agreed that any call will be cancelled if there are no submissions and requests to present/discuss those submissions 2 days in advance. The WG mailig list will be informed of cancellations.

The Chair clarified that indeed the official timeline information has been updated at the 802.11 website based on the Strawpoll held at the San Francisco meeting. He reminded everyone that we can always go faster!!

The Chair adjourned the call at 10:23.
