Central Equine Vets is a first opinion, ambulatory (mobile) equine veterinary practice based in Edinburgh. Malcolm CorsarBVM&S Cert. AVP (EP) MRCVS,Matthew Hanks BVSc MRCVS and Samantha Castle BVSc MRCVShave 40 years of combined experience in equine practice, 17 of which have been spent by Malcolm and Matthew working at the world-renowned University of Edinburgh’s Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies (R(D)SVS). During this time, both have become client-recognised equine practitioners, with excellent reputations within eastern central Scotland and the surrounding area. Samantha Castle joined the practice in 2015, adding her excellent equine veterinary expertise to the team.

QUALIFIER FOR TSR CHAMPIONSHIPS

The following classes (1-6, 7-11, 12-16, 17-21, 22-26 & 27-30) are all qualifiers for the TSR championships

TSR Riders& IN HAND Championships - This show is a qualifier for the 2016 TSR Riders/In Hand Regional Championships . Qualify and enter ANY of the Scottish Regional Finals. You Do Not have to be a TSR member to qualify or enter a final. The Rider/Handler qualifies and can enter any horse/pony in any number of Finals!


TSR Riders Champs - 1st & 2nd riders qualify and will receive a qualification card in the ring.


TSR In Hand Champs - The two highest placed Handlers with a TSR In Hand Card will qualify in any In Hand class. Handlers MUST have their cards signed in the ring by the judge/steward, cards are available FREE from the TSR website.

Open to members and non-members. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.

VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each age category will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals. Members will require the judge to sign their show card, whilst non-members will receive a red card which can then be exchanged for a green one when applying for VHS membership. Regional Finals are open to members only.

Young Rider Championship qualification. Qualification and rosette will be given to the young rider of the Judge’s choice, entitling them to enter the Young Rider Championship at the Scottish Supreme Final on 25th September at Ingliston Equestrian. This award is given at the Judge’s discretion.

All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Open Championships. No qualification or membership necessary. See VHS website for schedule.

City of Edinburgh Horse Show Rules

1.  The Edinburgh March Riding Association Ltd, Show Organisers and SNEC accept no responsibility for damage, accident, injury or loss to competitors, their servants, onlookers, horses, behicles, tack or property in connection with or arising from the show and it shall be a condition of entry that each entrant shall indemnify the Organisers of the Show and the owners of the property against any legal action arising from any mishap.

2.  Horseboxes and vehicles towing trailers are requested to strictly follow the instructions of our parking stewards. Due to restricted parking, animals may have to remain in their transport vehicles between classes.

3.  In all events the judges decision is final.

4.  Any objection must be made in writing with a deposit of £20 (returnable if objection upheld), within 30 mins of completion of a class and handed to the show secretary.

5.  Correct dress must be worn in the arenas and hats with a fastened 3 point restraining harness to the correct standard must be worn by any person riding in and around the showground.

6.  The orginisers reserve the right to combine, amend, split or cancel classes as they see fit and withhold prizes in the event o insufficient entries.

7.  Stallions must be handled by a responsible person over the age of 16.

8.  Ponies 14.2hh and under, Horses over 14.2hh.

9.  No moneys will be refunded for competitors unable to compete due to classes running consecutively, overlapping or if a competitor enters the wrong class. Moneys may be transferred to other classes at the secretary’s discresion. No entry fee will be refunded, except on production of medical or veterinary certificate within 7 days, less £3 administration fee.

10.  The closing date for entries is 24 april 2016. Competitor numbers should be collected from the show secretary office on the day of the show.

11.  The judges reserve the right to disqualify any rider, horse or pony found to be entered in an event for which they are not eligible, or to eliminate an unsound or unfit horse / pony from the competition.

12.  Any person seen ill-treating a horse or pony will be asked to leave.

13.  All trophies are proprty of The Edinburgh March Riding Association Ltd and winners must sign a receipt of safe custody for each trophy won. Trophies must be returned by 1 April 2016 and not returned on the day of the show.

14.  A compulsory fee of £1 per competitor must be paid for first aid cover. No competitor will be permitted to take part in the show if this fee has not been paid. No refunds will be given.

15.  Horses can easily be frightened and can become dangerous. Members of the public are requested to keep clear from horses areas / lanes and to refrain from behaviour that may alarm horses.

16.  Dogs MUST be kept on leads and are not permitted in internal viewing areas. Young children must be kept under close control of an adult.

17.  No galloping on the showground.
