Choral Response Let There Be Peace on Earth

Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now.

With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow:

Mark your calendars for Church Conference Meeting, 1:00 p.m. October 4, 2015. Pastor Parish Committee will meet with District Superintendent at 12:20 p.m.

It’s almost time! Items for our Trash to TreasuresSale which will be held on May 15th may be brought to the church on Wednesday, May 13th or Thursday, May 14th during regular church office hours. The gym is not available until those days because of God Works meals. Remember – NO CLOTHING. Thanks for your help.

Planting Day Is Back! The weather is finally getting warmer and it’s time to beautify the church grounds. Don’t forget that Saturday, May 16th, is the day, at 9:00 a.m. to come down and help with the job. “Many hands make light work” and we’re usually done by 11:00 a.m.

A security camera system has been installed covering the parking lot and main hallway /offices. We are presently using a very large, old monitor. If anyone has a flat screen monitor they wish to donate, it would be appreciated. Contact the office or Jerry Johnson for information.

Club 2015 - It is that time again and we need some help from the congregation. We will be selling Club tickets soon and could use some help with this. Dates we are selling are May 20th – 27th during the lunch hours at school. We also are selling during the senior breakfast and then before and after graduation. If you can help us out at all, please contact Holly Thompson at 734-755-7416. Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

I am pleased to announce that our organist, Inger Oswald, has been accepted into the Master’s Program at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. This is a five year summer program for a Master of Arts in Church Music, which requires the student to spend three weeks each summer at the School in addition to other Course work during the year. The Church Finance Committee voted to offer financial support for tuition during this period but, of course, there are a number of other expenses. If one would feel inclined to offer financial support, a gift can be made payable to the church and earmarked for Inger. Thank you for your consideration.

St. Paul’s Finance Committee: Jerry Johnson, Chairperson

Oaks of Righteousnessis a homeless shelter on E. Second St. in Monroe. It housed 30-45 people per night this past winter and feeds up to 100 people/day. This ministry included transitional housing, warming shelter, food pantry, job and housing placement, dress for success closet, life skills training, and addiction and resource referrals. They are in need of toilet, paper, paper towels, and laundry soap. They also need men’s clothes especially (gently used) shoes.
