Content module 4. Jaw-and-facial traumatology.

1. Jaws' fractures classification. Mechanism of jaw's fragments removing in case of jaw's fracture.

2. Emergency dentistry. Prosthodontics used for the injured/wounded patients.

3. General characteristics of jaw-and-facial apparatuses, their classification. Transportable splints. Teeth ligature, indications and contraindications to the usage. Possible errors and complications during the teeth ligature.

4. The manufacturing of removable splints, medical and transportable special jaw-and-facial splints made of basic means.

Content module 5. Prosthodontic treatment of consequences and complications of the trauma of jaw-and-facial area.

5.Treatment of jaws' fractures without bony fragments removing with the help of bent wire splints. Possible errors during the splinting.

6. Aetiology, clinicalpicture and prosthodontic treatment of jaws' fractures having the stable removing of bony fragments. The choice of apparatuses in case of bony fragments' removing. The treatment of jaws' fractures if bony fragments remove in the vertical direction.

7. The treatment of jaws' fractures if bony fragments remove in the transversal direction or in the sagittal direction.

8. The treatment of jaws' fractures if the bony fragments are edentulous. The organization of specialized prosthodontic aid used for treatment of the injured/wounded patients. Temporary and permanent splints.

Indications and contraindications to the bridge's usage. Necessary requirements to fixed bridges. The main principles of the planning of bridge structure depending on the individual peculiarities of the patient. Biomechanics of fixed bridge.

17. Clinical stages of swaged-and-soldered, cast metal and combined bridges' manufacturing. The factors which provide for bridge's fixation. The analysis of the technological stages of swaged-and-soldered bridge manufacturing. Galvanism, galvanosis.

18. Technological stages of bridges' manufacturing. Comparative characteristic of bridges (swaged-and-soldered, cast metal and combined bridges).
