ODF PRESENTS....cont

The brief for the pieces is as follows:

  • Max 15 min in length;
  • If presenting work-in-progress, the work must be performance-ready to present to a fee paying general audience;
  • Group, solo and duet work are all welcome;
  • Work involving cross-art form collaboration is welcome;

Selection process:

As part of the selection process, all proposals will be assessed by the ODF steering group and an external representative. There will not be a formal interview / presentation with the selection panel and therefore decisions will be made purely on the basis of the strength of the proposal submitted.

Criteria for selection will be based on:

  • Quality of proposal and proposed work (applicants will need to demonstrate quality within the proposal – this can include videos / reviews / outline of how quality will be ensured / examples of scratch or peer audience feedback)
  • Work involving a collaborative approach must outline the nature of the collaboration (including how the collaborative approach will work on stage)
  • Impact on artist / company’s own professional development (placing the ODF Presents opportunity within the wider context of your work – to include any longer term aspirations for the work)
  • Include an outline of your intended audience, and what you think makes your piece distinctive or striking
  • Priority will be given to Oxfordshire-based artists.
  • Selection will be based on curating an evening that reflects different style, themes, content

Additional Briefing Notes:

Expenses:- There is a small funding pot which will be split between the selected artists / companies (to a max of £150)

Technical rehearsal:-Please bear in mind that each artist / company will have approximately 60-90 minutes on the day for technical rehearsal (exact length dependent on number of artists / companies performing)

Marketing:-ODF Presents has the support of both Marketing Co-ordinator at the Old Fire Station and Tei Williams (ODF Administrator & Dancin’ Oxford PR & Marketing) to effectively market the performances. We will ideally need high quality images for the PR / Marketing, if available (but not essential)
