Brian Jordan Foundation Scholarship Guidelines and Application
The Brian Jordan Foundation Scholarship benefits economically challenged youth by awarding scholarships to students in need of finances to assist in furthering their education.
The nature of the scholarship (gift) is to assist students who are financially underprivileged with college tuition of$1,250 per recipient for Four Years.
The criteria used for selecting recipients are as follows:
- A high school senior, accepted to a four year accredited college or university
- A high school senior who has spent atleast 2 years involved in school music, arts, or athletic programs
- Maintained an overall 2.7 grade point average throughout high school
- An essay on why they should become the recipient of the Brian JordanFoundation Scholarship, with a minimum of 250 words
- Three letters of reference, from non-relatives
- Financial information for need determination
Consideration that will aid the decision:
- Leadership skills inside and outside of school
- Academic club(s) membership
- Social, religious organization(s) membership
- Band, sports, etc… (extra curricula activity involvement)
- Job(s) / Work experience
Requirements to Maintain the BJF Scholarship:
- Recipients must be enrolled in college each August 31st
- Recipients must have a grade point average of 2.5
- Recipients must provide foundation with semester schedule & transcript
- Recipients must participate in at least one BJF Event throughout the year
If the recipient fails to maintain the 2.5 grade point average by August 31 each year, then the scholarship will be suspended until requirements are met.

Letter of Recommendation: One letter is required from a current teacher, a school counselor and a community service leader. To Evaluator: Please write a one page description of the applicant’s character, school and community leadership abilities, potential to succeed, and evidence of the student’s strengths and weaknesses. Be sure to include the student’s name, your relationship to the applicant and the length of time you have been acquainted. Parents and immediate family members are NOT eligible to write the recommendations.

Essay: Type a Single Page Original Essay. The essay may only be one page in length (minimum 250 words). Highlight areas, such as, your academic, extra-curricular, and community service accomplishments, and any part-time jobs, travel or hobbies that may relate to your career goals. Also, state how a scholarship will aid you with these goals.
