OFF-STREET PARKING PLACESORDER 2016

Notice is hereby given that Havant Borough Council in exercise (with the consent of Hampshire County Council pursuant to Section 39(3)) of its powers under Sections 32 and 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 propose to make a permanent Order, the effect of which will be:-

(1) To revoke the current Order below in relation to all off-street parking places provided or managed by the Council, provision as to the use of each parking place and in particular the vehicles or class of vehicles which may be entitled to use it; the conditions on which it may be used and the removal from it of a vehicle left there in contravention of the Order.

(2)and make a new Order with thechange proposed below:

  • Central Beachlands Car Park to have a designated parking area exclusively for Motorhome Parking only. This will be situated in the parking area behind the skate park and will be in designated parking bays as signposted. The maximum period of waitingwill be 3 nights no return in 4 nights. For clarification purposes the definition of a motor home is “any vehicle constructed or adapted for use as a mobile place of sleeping accommodation”.

(3) This change is proposed to improve the safety of users of the beach car parking area by formalising the motorhome parking to a designated area and allowing larger parking bays to accommodate the motorhomes. It will also enable more effective monitoring and enforcement of motorhomes by permitting them to park only in a designated area. Motorhome parking in all other Beachland Car Parks will be prohibited.
