The Applicant, represented by the undersigned, authorized for signature, hereby declares:
  • To be a recognized non-profit institution working in the field of water resources research and management for at least three years, endowed with legal status under national law;
  • To have an interest in participating in the programme of the AU/NEPAD Network of Centres of Excellence in Water Sciences and Technology Development in the Central and Eastern African Region, and commit, if selected, to participate in the CEANWATCE network in a proactive way, pursuing the objectives of the project: strengthening a regional network of centers of excellence and improving mutual understanding with the organization Responsible for the development of public policies in the water sector;
  • To accept the contribution proposal contained in section II of the application;
  • To have the qualifications declared in the criteria evaluation template, contained in section III of the application:
1. Scientific and technical capacity
2. Networking and team working
3. Human resources development capacity
4. Financial capacity and sustainability
5. Capacity to impact public policies on water
  • To be in a position to immediately submit, on request, the supporting documents for the declarations contained in section III of the application (or complementary explanations) within a period not exceeding one week from the date of request.
Failure of the Applicant to properly justify their statements would be grounds for automatic exclusion from the process.

CEANWATCE Secretariat
It would be to the advantage of an institution to declare and demonstrate itswillingness to host the Secretariat of the Central and Eastern Africa network of CoE on water. As such, Applicant Institutions should provide letters of motivations and supporting documentation including the following: housing, facilities, financial support, personnel.
