SCHOOL-PARENT–STUDENT COMPACT (AGREEMENT) – 2017-2018
The administration, teachers, staff, parents and students of Oak Park Middle School will work to ensure that:
- YOUR CHILD Receives high-quality content and instruction which will be provided in a supportive, safe and effective learning environment in order for him/her to meet Florida’s student academic achievement standards and strive to be a life-long learner:
- Highly qualified teachers
- District-wide curriculum blueprints and scope and sequence
- Thinking Maps, Kagan and AVIDStrategies
- Results of Progress Monitoring Data in order to meet needs of students
- Parent-teacher conferences are held regularly (you should have a minimum of two) and this compact will be discussed as it relates to YOUR CHILD”S academic achievement:

- Telephone conversations
- Student Data Folders
- Communicate with your child’s teachers through their Knights Unite (KU) homeroom teacher
- Frequent reports on YOUR CHILD’S progress will be provided to you:
- Progress Reports
- Report Cards ((Final Report Cards are mailed home)
- Skyward (online access to attendance and grades)
- YOU have reasonable access to staff:
- Communicate with your child’s teachers through their Knights Unite(KU) homeroom teacher
- Emails to teachers (access teacher’s email by going to and selecting Faculty and Staff)
- By calling teachers at (352) 787-3232 and leaving a message or voicemail to return your call as soon as possible
- Meetings with administration must be scheduledin advance by calling (352)787-3232 (please leave a message)
- YOU are welcomed as an observer and volunteer in the school:
- Volunteer information may be obtained by contacting the main office at (352) 787-3232 or view our school’s website
- You are welcome to visit the school at any time. Please call ahead to observe your child’s classroom.
- We are depending on YOU (Parents/Families) to:
- Have your child at school each day on time.
- Give your child support and a quiet place to complete homework.
- Encourage your child to read or read to your child 15-20 minutes each day without distractions
(TV, Computer, electronic games, etc.).
- Participate in decisions about your child’s education through PTO, SAC, Committees, Volunteering, etc.
- Be engaged in your child’s education and ask for help from the school
- Emphasize the importance of “every day” math in your child’s life.
- Stay informed with your child’s education, communicate with the school by reading all notices and responding as appropriate. “visit website often”
- We are depending on YOU (Students) to:
- Attend school every day ready to learn and give maximum effort to your education at all times.
- Complete any homework given for the day.
- Read something of interest every day outside of school time.
- Deliver all notices and information you may receive at school to your parent or guardian in your home.
- Use your planner on a daily basis.
- Follow school rules and the county code of conduct and ALWAYS act like a SILVER KNIGHT
We hope you will join with us this year to provide the very best education for your son or daughter. Overwhelming evidences shows that when YOU are involved and engaged in the education of your child and give him/her the support necessary to make good decisions about progress made at school, he/she will be more successful, perform better on tests, and go on to higher education.

La administración, docentes, personal, padres y estudiantes de secundaria de Oak Park trabajará para asegurar:
