Award Background

The ACC Corporate Pro Bono Award recognizes outstanding achievement by a corporate counsel or a corporate legal department in providing pro bono legal services.ACC defines pro bono service as legal services provided to the indigent or a charitable non-profit.

Nomination Instructions

Nomination materials must be received on or before May 5, 2017. Please make sure to complete the nomination form (page 3). It should be the first page of your nomination materials.

Nominee’s Biography and Photo

Please submit the nominee’s biography describing his or her background and contributions to pro bono efforts, along with a current photo that can be reproduced should your nominee be selected as a recipient (JPEG photo no smaller than 4 inches by 6 inches and no less than 300 dpi).

Guidelines

  1. All nominees must be ACC members
  2. Please include the nomination form (page 3) with the nomination materials, the nominee’s biography and a current photo (JPEG photo no smaller than 4 inches by 6 inches and no less than 300 dpi).
  3. Please be aware that nomination materials will not be returned.

Individual

  1. Please supply responses to the following and attach them to the nomination materials.
  2. Provide responses and specific examples, if applicable.
  3. Describe how the nominee has achieved professional excellence in his or her field.
  4. Describe the nominee’s efforts in providing pro bono legal services, and the impact and benefit they have had in the community.
  5. Describe how the nominee has demonstrated commitment to the development and delivery of quality pro bono legal services through organized pro bono programs, including legal services programs, legal aid societies, local ACC Chapter pro bono programs, etc., or has had a consistent, long-term involvement in pro bono activities over the years.

Organization or Law Department

  1. Please supply responses to the following and attach them to the nomination materials.
  2. Provide responses and specific examples, if applicable.
  3. Describe the organization’s efforts in providing pro bono legal services, and the impact and benefit they have had in the community.
  4. Describe how your organization has demonstrated its commitment to the development and delivery of quality pro bono legal services through organized pro bono programs, including programs run in partnership with legal services programs, legal aid societies, local ACC Chapter pro bono programs, etc.
  5. Describe how your organization has encouraged and supported the participation of its legal department and corporate non-legal staff in providing pro bono legal services.
  6. Identify the department leader that oversees the organization’s efforts described above. Describe their position within the organization, including areas of responsibility and oversight.
