The Staff Recognition Awards recognise either individual members or small groups of staff who have shown excellence in the way in which they have undertaken their duties, and contributed to the broader life of the University. The award is open to all staff other than academics, and nominations may be made by both individuals and groups. All members of staff and students may make nominations.
The criteria for judging nominations for the Staff Recognition Award may include the following:
Demonstrations of initiative; of innovation; of creativity; of customer care skills (to both internal and external customers); of the provision of high quality services; of actions to the benefit of the University and the community.
It will help the Selection Committee if nominators are able to draw attention to these areas of their nominee's activities in their submissions.
Please make your case for nominating this (these) person(s) overleaf. You should tell the Committee in no more than about 250 words (and certainly no more than a side of A4) why you wish to make the nomination. In particular you may wish to draw to the Committee's attention any ways in which your nominee(s) has/have supported the University in ways that extend beyond the requirements of their post.
If you are nominating a current or ex-member of staff for the special one-off "Vice-Chancellor's 50th Award for Special Contribution", please highlight how the individual hasmade an outstanding and sustained contribution to the success of the University in its first fifty years. If you are nominating an ex-member of staff and do have current contact details for them please also include these as we will need to contact them, ideally with a letter by post if they are successful.
