OnePlusOne investigates what makes relationship work more or less well – or fall apart – and the effect of the quality of relationships on parenting, parent-child relationships and the well-being of adults and families. We use the findings to develop training and resources tailored to the needs of those working with families in both the statutory and voluntary sectors, and to ensure that policy is shaped by evidence and innovative practice.

Thisfixed term role is essential to keeping our resources and web services evidence based, fresh and engaging and give our users the best experience we can.

SALARY RANGE / £27,000-£30,000 per annum pro rata

JOB DESCRIPTION (narrative)
Working closely with research and other colleagues, this role is to produce a variety of evidence-based and engaging learning materials for use in a range of outlets - primarily our learning resources and web services and
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES (list)
  • Designing learning content for OnePlusOne’s e-learning modules, online services / websites, including e-bulletins, newsletters etc.
  • Develop a wide range of materials/resources for OnePlusOne’s on-line content bank.
  • Responsible for maintaining the ‘voice’ of the different OPO web services
  • Work in partnership with on-line partners to co-create content where required
  • Edit content produced by colleagues and responsible for maintaining quality in the editorial process, ensuring final sign off of all content produced
  • Produce and maintain content forward planners for e-learning and training resources
  • Support development of marketing collateral as required

Variations in these responsibilities may occur over time and this job description may alter accordingly.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (narrative)
It may be necessary to work beyond normal office hours without advance warning in order to meet deadlines. It may be necessary to work beyond normal office hours on a planned basis in order to attend or service meetings. Although predominantly desk-based, this post may occasionally require the post holder to travel outside London and stay away from home on a planned basis in order to pursue development opportunities or attend conferences, seminars or other events.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Essential / Desirable
Journalism, Communications or English graduate with professional experience and understanding of writing educative material. / 
Experience of using content management systems / 
Excellent understanding of research and statistics, and ability to accurately interpret, cite and source information. / 
Highly organised. Systematic approach to planning ahead, handling and filing information, with an investigative approach to monitoring, tracing and retrieving sources / 
A good understanding of the importance of evidence-based information, and commitment to developing and maintaining a high quality information resource. / 
Track record of writing educative material / 
Track record of writing for a broad range of online/offline audiences / 
Ability to summarise evidence based written material into simple language without altering meaning / 
Proven experience of working to tight deadlines on numerous projects / 
