Thank you for your interest in Students of Marquette Nation!

Marquette Nation is a comprehensive program designed to bring students and alumni together to continue Marquette’s traditions, establish class unity, further Marquette’s mission by raising money for student scholarships and keep students engaged with the university after graduation.

From the moment students step foot on campus, they are a member of the nation. This nation is made up of people from all 50 states and close to 100 countries. No matter where you are, you will always have a way to stay connected to Marquette!

There are only four requirements for members of Students of Marquette Nation (SOMN):

1.  Serve as an ambassador: Each SOMN member will serve as an ambassador for the program. Each member will be responsible for educating students about private giving to the university and all Marquette Nation events.

2.  Attend SOMN Meetings: Each member must attend all meetings deemed mandatory by the President and/or Annual Fund officer. SOMN meets once a month at a day and time determined at the beginning of the academic year. We need constant constructive input from students to help Marquette Nation meet its stated goals. At meetings, we will discuss marketing ideas, incentives, plan events and sign up for events.

3.  Organize and attend events: Marquette Nation will be hosting 4-5 events this year. When dates are finalized, please make it a priority to attend each.

4.  Lead by giving: All SOMN members must able to participate in all Marquette Nation fundraising activities by making a gift, and asking others to give. The amount of the gift is not important, but the participation is.

Please note that there is not one type of person who should participate in Marquette Nation. A variety of individuals with different life experiences and who are at different levels of their leadership and personal development are preferred. Everyone who is interested is encouraged to apply. A love of Marquette is truly the only requirement!
