Thank you for coming to the Fall conference!

This Week: Language Arts: We are reading non-fiction books about the parts of our bodies (heart, lungs, blood, brain).

Word Wall : We are beginning to learn our word wall words. Each week we will learn 1 or 2 words. Please practice these at home in bedtime stories, games, etc. The word for this week are the. Our complete list includes am, can, I, we

Writing: This week we continue to talk about what a writer does and create a chart to help us remember the steps (think, draw, label, write, review). We continue to practice writing our names…using one capital letter and the rest lowercase. Please practice this skill at home. EX: Brenda NOT: BRENDA

Math: We are learning about 2D shapes (square, circle, triangle, rectangle), and using math vocabulary like vertices, and line.

Science: We are learning about our 5 senses, and how to use them to observe the world around us.

Social Studies: We’re talking about apples! Parts of an apple, kinds of apples, how an apple tree grows.

Special Area: We attend Art, PE and Music on a 3 day rotation. This week:

Please send a filled water bottle, and have children wear tennis shoes, every day.

Apples: If you are going by the store, please pick up some apples for our class. 2-4 of whatever kind you like. We are using our 5 senses to learn about apples, so we will be seeing, hearing, smelling, touching, and tasting apples. We will make applesauce on Friday!

Extra clothes: Please be sure your child has a change of clothes in a large ziplock in their backpack. Kindergarteners sometimes have accidents or spills and a change is needed.!

Absences/Tardies: Your child is tardy if they are not with the class at 7:45AM. Please email me by 7:30AM or call the classroom at 841-2734 and leave a message if your child will be absent from school.
