CALL FOR PROPOSALS

13th Annual Conference

May 1-4, 2012

Sheraton Gunter Hotel

San Antonio, Texas

The Texas Victim Services Association is calling for proposals for its 13th Annual Conference. The four-day conference will be held in San Antonio, at the SheratonGunterHotel, from Tuesday, May 1, through Friday, May 4, 2012. The first afternoon of the conference (May 1st) is set aside for ethics training.

Founded in 1997, the mission of the Texas Victim Services Association is support, education and recognition for victim service providers in Texas. Our annual conference provides top-quality education to victim service providers and helps us realize our vision: the delivery of a full range of consistent, high-quality, professional services to crime victims, their families, and communities.

San Antonio offers a blend of charm, vibrancy and color. There is much to do for large and small groups—we attribute it to the unique culture. When Tex-Mex meets Old West the atmosphere is rich: the river passages—colorful, the cuisine—even more flavorful, and the people—genuine. So round up your group because it is “Better Together in San Antonio,”this year’sconference theme.

TVSA is looking for proposals that …

  • Support collaborative efforts to provide a seamless continuum of victim-centered services.
  • Forward evidence-based practices to ensure that victims receive the highest quality services.
  • Provide creative approaches to build resiliency in practitioners.

  • Build skills in areas of cultural competence, program management, sustainability, communications, advocacy, and working collaboratively and ethically.
  • Offer innovative ideas on how to help us take care of ourselves and better serve victims.

2.) Specific goals and objectives for the workshop must be clearly stated in the proposal.
