Texas Scramble “The Rules”

  1. Off the Tee: Each player will hit off tee. All players’ tee shots must be used twice. One of the four players may use an extra tee shot. Remember to plan the choice of your tee shots. Don’t leave the weakest golfer’s tee shot for the longest hole for example. Think BALANCE.

RECORD WHOSE SHOT WAS TAKEN ON THE SCORECARD WITH A CHECK MARK BESIDE THEIR NAME EACH TIME THEIR TEE SHOT IS USED.

  1. To the Green: Players choose which of the tee shots to take. The other golfers collect their ball and gather around the chosen ball. Players then drop within one club length, and hit their next shots. This process is followed until they reach the green.
  1. On the Green: Choose the best ball in the best position on the green. Mark the ball with a coin. Players place the ball within one putter head of the coin and putt their ball towards the hole. If the ball doesn’t go in the hole continue marking and putting the ball until the ball is holed out.
  1. SCORING: Record your team’s score on the card for each hole. Be sure to mark the correct hole to start as each team begins on a different hole.

Please note that groups playing as a threesome will be able to take one extra shot on each shot to the hole to even their opportunities with the groups having four players. These groups will be able to use each player’s tee shot three times instead of two.

PLEASE GIVE YOUR TOTALED SCORE CARD TO NELSON WHEN YOU ARE COMPLETED YOUR ROUND.

Specialty Holes

# 1 – Longest Drive Men/Women The golfers in group one will place the marker in the fairway at the point of the longest drive that finishes in the fairway. Record the name of the golfer male or female who hits the longest drive. Should someone in the next foursome hit past that point, move the marker to the new location and record your name on the marker. Everyone’s shot is in play for the longest drive, BUT you still must use the tee shot of one person on this hole as described above.

# 4 – Closest to the holeAll players take their tee shots on this hole. The first group will mark the male’s and female’s ball which are closest to the hole. Please record your name on the marker provided, then place it where the ball came to rest. Following players can move the marker if their ball ends up closer to the hole. Record your name once again. The last group is asked to bring in the marker upon completion of the hole.

# 7 – Hole in One Challenge Anyone getting a hole-in-one on this hole will be $5000 richer. No mulligans allowed!
