Our spring specialty show was held again at Houston Farm & Ranch Club.The weather was great and we had a wonderful entry. Ms. Deborah V Boyd judged our sweepstakes and from the 8 entries selected:

Triumphant Peachcreek Hot Tamale as Best in Sweepstakes.

Best of Opposite Sex was Rivermist Broxden Isn't She Dovely
Ms. Sue N. Melancon judged 17 Britts in regular classes and breed selecting

· Best of Breed was CH GCH Dual Lanes Cam JH, owned by club member Chris and Leslie

our club’s Interests in Agility

Many dog clubs including other Brittany clubs sponsor agility tests. Our members Amanda McGavin and Robert Power briefly discussed at the last meeting for our club to consider hosting an event. At the May meeting our club will determine/vote if we want to pursue this venture 100 percent (after a formal documented proposal of upfront costs, potential loss to the club, entry fee, prizes, location, etc.)

"The purpose of this clinic is to screen potential breeding animals for heart disease and provide documentation to send to OFA registry. It is not to diagnose already suspected heart disease. Appointments should be made to discuss that in the office. We allot about 15 minutes per dog for an echo for these clinics, which is sufficient to clear dogs or identify things that might make an owner/breeder want to reconsider breeding, but this is not sufficient to have a discussion about heart disease. An exam and echo in the office is $450.00 so this is a substantial savings. Pregnancy & estrus can affect auscultation and echo results, so please plan accordingly.”$160 Echo -- $50 Auscultations 50% deposit to secure an appointment.
