MCEDC; Matagorda Advocate

Texas ChemOil Technologies Incorporated, and its parent company, Chemicals Incorporated, announced today plans for construction of a chemical manufacturing site south of Bay City, Texas in Matagorda County. The permitting process is underway for the site, and the facility is anticipated to be operational by the third quarter of 2011. The new site will bring approximately 100 new jobs to Matagorda County within 5 years.

The site is located five miles south of Bay City, directly off of Highway 60. It will allow Texas ChemOil to move incoming raw materials and outgoing products by railcar and truck and will feature facilities sized for these bulk shipments of products.

Texas ChemOil Technologies supplies chemicals to the Oilfield Industry with a focus on drilling and stimulation additives as well as chemical intermediates for production chemicals. These chemicals are currently being produced at Chemicals Incorporated’s site in Baytown, Texas. “We will continue to make products at our Baytown location, but the additional site in Matagorda County allows us to produce higher volume products more efficiently with our access to rail transportation”, says Dr. Moza, Founder of Chemicals Incorporated. “We selected the site in Matagorda County as it is home to several chemical facilities already and it has excellent infrastructure in place to support the industry. We are very proud to be growing with Matagorda County”, concludes Dr. Moza.

Chemicals Incorporated is privately owned and was established in 1984 by Dr. Moza with a focus on custom manufacturing for the chemical industry. It has 80 employees at the Baytown site and has built a customer base of many Fortune 500 companies with whom it has successfully collaborated over the years. In addition to the manufacturing of custom chemicals and oilfield products at the Baytown, TX site, Chemicals Incorporated manufactures a line of food additives which provide a cooling sensation in the product. These additives are sold under the brand name Qaroma and their typical uses include mouthwashes, toothpastes and chewing gum.
